Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Just curious but how many second coursers had this same assessment. ?? Do you have work related experience?
I think some 2nd course nurses lack clinical hours/units because they do BSN for just 2 years. US BONs and the CGFNS have had some issue like this and they would recommend upgrade by taking/enrolling some units. I highly recommend that you contact the council about this.
I think enrolled nurse is not classified as a skilled worker and will not be eligible for 457 visa. If you are in Australia and is a permanent resident/australian citizen, you can pursue CAS. But if you are from the Philippines and is planning to migrate as an erolled nurse to Oz, this is not possible, I think. I recommend that you consult a migration agent on this. Or better yet, inquire with the council if you can upgrade your status and study some units in the Philippines to be able to qualify for RN. Just inquire what areas and units you lack. Just my
Thank you so much for the brilliant suggestion KIT! :)
I will definitely mention that in my letter...
I was wondering if i should request for reassesment...
but that would probably just take months.......
and am cluless on how to go about it..
Or perhaphs.. submit an application to NSW?
Maybe this time I can include the course syllabus..
detailed breakdown of my theoretical and clinical hours...
I took nursing for two years and it was trimester
Thank you so much to all of you who take the time out to reply to my post
and private messages :) esp...AELITH and BRANYAN
God Bless!!!!
:)
Hi Cioman94,
Any progress about your verification from PRC? In my case , it is still pending. I can't think of a reason why. As for I already paid 800 Pesos for it to be mailed by Fedex or EMS. How about you, do you know of anything why your verification is still pending? Is it possible that our verification is still pending coz we did not avail the services of agent$? Any posibility that they give first priority to applicants coming from these agent$$. As I have said before, someday it will be much much difficult for Nurses to apply to anywhere, if you are doing it yourself. If some people keep on encouraging these so called "helpful agent$$$", then it's just the same as taking away the chances of " not so rich but qualified nurses". It is a selfish and greedy act.
To uh_huh,
I already started my pathway thru Perth NMBWA. I still lack the verification. I have some 6 months experience which I did try to apply to them, just hoping for the consideration. Still waiting for their response. But I doubt it. Try qld. Do it yourself. Browse on websites and old forums here. You can do it. We all can understand English and Australian Immigration websites are always available. Just be patient on looking for information. Never consider agent$. We are Nurses. We are qualified to understand things. Good Luck.
Hi to all, I would just like to share that after doing CAS thru CQUniversity, finally, QNC has told me that I'm already eligible to be registered in QLD, They're now just waiting for my license fee payment. :yeah::yeah:I hope that everyone who is and who will be doing the CAS program will be encourage by this. What patuman01 stated is very true, you don't need any agent..QNC and CAS are very clear on their instructions, you just have to understand them. And if you stiil have any questions, you can always go to this forum and I'm sure there are a lot of people here who will be very willing to help.

you must request idp to send to qnc your results; you'll pay idp for the courier
[color=#54301a]

you must include your tor and rle
4.initial [color=#54301a]registration certificate [color=#54301a]or [color=#54301a]statement of entry: ( what is this? is the prc license and the certification that you have to get from them ? )
go to this website:
download and print page 3, fill up item 1 and have prc fill up item 2.
the filled up form will be sent by prc, prc will not give you the filled up form, if you want to have it sent via courier like fedex, lbc or ems by the postal office, you must tell them. in my case, somebody from prc came with me to the courier office when i told them i want to sent it via a courier of my liking. i think the reason why they do this is to avoid any alteration to the document.
page 1 and 2 is a guide for documents needed by overseas applicants, use this as your reference, the instructions here are very clear regarding what documents are needed.

most hospitals have a manual where job description or roles/responsibilities for a specific position is described or written. if there is none, then try to doing it by yourself and have it verified by your nurse supervisor.

6.verification of your current registration: i get this from the prc ? when i go there what do i request or what is it called?
pls. see question #4

7.transcript of training or academic record: do i send this or does my school send it?
you can request your school to do that for you but if you have a copy of your tor and rle, just have a certitied true copy of them done.

8.statutory declaration: a bit confused with this one?? who do i nominate to represent me? and when i got to see the form. i have no idea what to include
this is item 10 on the application form***, just tick the boxes there that corresponds to your answer, fill it up and have it witnessed by a notary public. you don't have to include anything, it only needs to be witnessed by a notary public. to do this, just go to a notary office and tell them you need to have this document witnessed.
*** you can download the qnc application form for overseas applicants here:
most recent fee is : aud$ 158 (application fee of aud$49 plus overseas assessment charge of aud$ 109)
you do not need to send original copies; certified true copy will suffice.
Hi Patuman,
You just need a Certification of Good Standing sa PRC and PRC releases that in 2 days time as this is not sent to Manila for verification. This is the document required by NMBWA if you are applying for registration at Western Australia nursing board. You nust have requested a verification of your Philippine registration, thus, the late release of your request.
You can use trainings and volunteer work as your experience. Some of my Filipino classmates here have submitted certification as clinic nurses. Just comply with the 1 year experience or 1,840 hours work experience. Being a clinical instructor can also be used as experience. I suggest you have to ensure complying with the work experience as Jillian Thomson, the training coordinator of Hollywood Private Hospital relayed that as of Jan 29, there were 25 who submitted their application for the Sept. 2009 BP run. So the competition of the placement is stiff as there are only 25 slots per run. The opportunity is vast as they really need lots and lots of nurses. The support of the training office of HPH is really overwhelming. They really like us to work with them as soon as we get our license. When I got here, I am not sure if I will be able to find a job here. But on the first day of our theoreticals, we were really made to understand that they will hire us for as long as we get the license. So, it calmed my nerves and made me realize their need. They even give a finder's fee of 500AUD to their existing employees who can recommend nurses to work with the hospital. I hope I will be able to convince you to work on your application and to secure a place on the Sept. 2009 BP.
Good luck and God bless.
Cheers,
Maggie
