Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
we share the same sentiments, polka...I originally planned to head to the US but after consulting some agencies, it seems it'll really take a while, 2 years at the very least, before an immigrant visa can be issued. So I'm also trying to adjust my sails and see the other options that may work for me while waiting for that. Let's all stay optimistic.
Probably even longer as some nurses are still waiting and have been over 2 years
i just followed what was written in the qnc's checklist for overseas applicant.the doc must bear the statement " CERTIFIED TRUE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT"
just make sure that the name, signature, address, contact #, date are included.
u also have to accomplish a statutory declaration.
in my case, i went to stamp makers to personalize the stamps so all of the info needed would be included in it.
i think this is the best option to avoid ur docs to be returned by qnc.
Thanks a lot Punjabi!
My next question to you and anyone who has an idea about this is:
After passing all the required modules, what is the next process? What are the requirements that I should be aware of at this moment to avoid any delays during the 2nd half of the process? I would likewise want to clarify the importance of Hepatitis B vaccination, Basic Life Support Training and IV therapy training. Are they all required during the 2nd half of the processing? What else should I comply in advance?
Thanks a lot for all the help!:dancgrp:

I used to consider Canada as my next destination but I believe Australia still offer the best option. Such are my reasons:
1. travelling time is much shorter and cheaper. Going to Au from the Philippines is just 7 1/2 to 8 hours while going to Canada may take 16 hours or more depending on your final destination.
2. Travelling cost is much cheaper to or from AU to the Philippines compared to Canada plus there is no jet lag since the time zones are maximum of 3 hours difference only.
3. Cost of living is much cheaper in Au. A mother told me that when you go home from the market, you bring home with a bag from a canadian supermarket while when you go home from and AU market you go home with a sack. Food is really cheap.
4.The weather in Au is better than Canada. Its tropical like the Philippines only a liitle bit colder. IN Canada even in vancouver it is much colder than in America. And in the colder places, my cousin would say... you do can not imagine the cold until you are there. Temp can go -35 or even colder.
5. We can just use our clothes from the Philippines plus additional jackets. In Canada you have to buy a lot of clothes specially fall and winter clothes. That means more expenses. In fact it is better to buy clothes here because it is much cheaper and trendier and stylish.
6. You can enjoy skiing and swimming in Au. Swimming and surfing in gold coast, snorkling and scuba diving in great barrirer reef and even enjoy skiing in Mount Hotham in Melbourne, Victoria or From Sydney, the closest places for skiing are Thredbo and the Perisher Blue resorts -- Thredbo being the more familiar and better known thats just an hour away from sydney. We enjoy the best of both worlds.
These are just a few so I believe Au is better than Canada.
Lets see each other in Australia soon.
Go Australia!
