I'm confused...so do you guys think thats its safe to assume if you havent received an email by now there is no point in waiting..?

And I am sorry, but I cannot even answer the above question publically. Let me just say it is required you respond to the email and return the required documents to move forward. Emails are targeted to those considered in 'fundable range', but include below what we can actually fund to to make sure we get all paperwork back and can finalize our lists. All emails went out 7/14 and 15 and again on 8/2 and 3. Clear as mud?

Nurse79 - unfortunately I think that is what NELRP Help is saying...that if you did NOT receive an email, you have not been awarded. Because the way they obtain your banking info and contract (which we received a copy of in the actual award letter), is via email. When I applied last year, I did not receive an email and I did not get funded. Did you check your spam folder too, though?? There's always next year too....

my understanding is that they have made all the awards for the year. they are not sending out anymore emails so if you didnt receive an email you probably were not awarded sorry to break the bad news to you......

Sounds about right. I got my email 7/14 and got my letter on the 25th. Definitely not unreasonable to stalk your mailman if you got an email. I think NELRP Help mentioned that the next round of letters would go out today.. but maybe they were running a little behind.

I got my letter today!!!! I couldn't be more grateful and am still crossing my fingers for everyone still waiting for news!

I started following this blog yesterday while I was on break at work, and I'm actually very passive about checking my mailbox, and considering that in the past I got an email w/ info to fax in my contract, I readily assumed that I would get notice via email... To keep it short, let me just say that it's been over a week since I had checked my mailbox... After reading about people getting awards, I decided to dig up my email form 7/14, and I actually replied to it asking for any info regarding my application status... and needless to say the very next business day I got a phone call with the news that I was awarded, along w/ details regarding the award!

And for the icing on the cake, when I got home I checked my mailbox I was pleasantly surprised to see my LETTER IN THE MAIL!!!!

Good luck to all of you who are still patiently waiting. I hope you guys catch a break like I have!

Soooo I was thinking,

For those of us that received letters or found put we will be receiving them soon, is there another thread where we can discuss things like what we will do from here. I'd just like to hear ideas about how ppl are applying their loans (ie: spreading it out or targetting a specific loan) and ideas about taxes, and applying for a third year of funding, etc.

That's a great idea! I'm particularly interested in how to prep for the tax hit.....we get taxed again? I thought taxes were already taken out. I'm so confused. My brain needs time to heal after getting "NELRPed". :eek:
