  1. Letter in the mail today!! I am so very humbled by God's grace! Praying for everyone still waiting.... DSH, KS, 135%, emailed 7/22 contract 8/22
  2. i wouldn't have thought about that!! I am considering trying to get into PACU
  3. 50min!? That is sooo sad
  4. I am one who was definalty not ready to move into the NICU role right out of school....however, I have grown more the first year on the unit as a real nurse that i ever imagined!!! It is completely doable and I would not stress out much about it! You will most likely have a long orientation and will not take patients of your own until you feel comfortable.
  5. Psych basically scares me!! hated every min of it! God bless those who have a passion for this specialty.
  6. I agree!!
  7. new, learning, stressed, progress, content, confident :)
  8. vicky193, I too was worried that they did not recieve my faxed info. I emailed my contact person twice and fianally someone did reply to my email and said that because of the volume they are not able let every person know that their paperwork was recieved. The email stated that if they did not recieve the faxed paperwork that they would contact you first to let you know and ask you to resubmit the info. Don't stress i'm sure you are fine!!.......i'm still waiting got my letter here in KS.....emailed 7/28
  9. Good to know! Thanks for the info
  10. Great Question! In my opinion No a CNA should not call themselves a Nurse. Their title is nurse assistant....I was a cna and i would not have felt comfortable calling myself a nurse.
  11. Days!! I have worked both and days are better for my body, I learn the most since it seems most changes occur on day shift and the day goes by super fast with all the families around and people to talk to!
  12. Female. I love both! Sometimes i'm in a cat mood because they are just so calm and peaceful.....and sometimes I love dogs, they are so energetic!!
  13. During the few weeks on the unit I would focus on assesment norms and abnormals......Ask lots of questions about what to expect and when to be concerned, i spent wat too much time and energy worrying about little things....this made learning bigger and more complex things more difficult, direct your energy wisely! Learning is hard and draining! Do your best but remeber you will NOT be perfect, and its ok :)
  14. What I love about the NICU is.....Bonding with the families, relieveing them of some of their fears, teaching families (its exciting to be sort of the expert on everything). I love watching the babies grow and get stonger. I love not having social akward moments (lol) like you may have with adult patients. I love the respect I get from Docs and others when I tell them what I do :) Not so great things are.......well, babies do not hold still very well for assessments and will scream in your ear!..this can make your day a bit frusturating. Poop, poop and more poop! Overbearing/difficult families. contact isolation and a cranky baby. Most of all for me it is heart breaking when a baby cries and cries and you do not know why or what to do and I wish they could tell me if they are in pain.
  15. Hello (new here)....Congrats to all of you who have recieved letters, what a blessing!! NELRP help- I do not have 15posts, is there any other way I can get in contact with you?? Are you able to PM me?
