Jan 23, 201115 yr Hi all!!! Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Education Loan Repayment for 2011..I came across the thread for 2010 but was just looking for some additional support...ahhhh!!!!!!!! Its so stressful! Thanks!
Jan 25, 201115 yr Hello! I am just finishing the last of my paperwork to send out! This is my first time applying and I'm not sure what my chances are. Cause I have read the last few threads from the previous years and some people have applied like 3 years in a row and finally got it. So I hope I get it cause i am sure a lot of us cause uses it. Good luck to you!
Jan 26, 201115 yr Author I know reading the thread is so daunting...I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It would help so much. Do u know of anyone personally that was awarded it by chance???
Jan 27, 201115 yr Hi, I am just finalizing my application... I know 2 people from CT that got awarded. This is a horrible process tho.... very time consuming
Jan 29, 201115 yr I am applying for the first time also! Wish I had heard about it sooner! :) One question.... Are unofficial school transcripts acceptable? I noticed on the checklist it stated that they are. But on the online application I saw that they wanted official transcripts? Help, please!!
Feb 2, 201115 yr unofficial transcripts are fine. Just as a note - When I called NELRP the other day... they said to be careful with transcripts with watermarks and faxing. Sometimes it comes out unclear.
Feb 4, 201115 yr Ugh, this is very time consuming and nerve wrecking! Sending out my papers tomorrow! Sweetmeggy 22 the two peopletht ot it were they first time applicants?
Feb 5, 201115 yr 1 was a 1st time applicant... the other one wasnt. It was her first time. The reason why she didnt get it the first time was b/c she incorrectly filled soemthing out i believe.
Feb 6, 201115 yr I applied too...very nervous because the thought of getting assistance is like hitting the lottery :). I guess only time will tell. Good Luck to all who have applied.
Feb 6, 201115 yr Hello all!I applied as well. I agree some of the past blogs are making me nervous. I work at a DSH and have at least 145% debt to income ratio, but many of the 2010 applicants have >200%! It does make me feel a little better about my debt though. I thought I was unusually horrible. If anyone has received a reward I would be very greatful to hear the facility type and debt to income ratio!Good luck everyone! It is like winning the lottery. I'm so hunkered down by debt I can't save up for a down payment on a house even though I already pay $625/mo in rent!
Feb 7, 201115 yr I was selected last year. My debt to income ratio is 230%, I work at a DSH in southern NH.
Feb 7, 201115 yr Hello all! This is my first time applying for the NELRP as well. I read all the blogs from last years program and see that the chances of being picked are very slim-like winning the lottery. Last year you had a 10% chance of winning after meeting the top criteria. Hopefully this year will be better with all the extra funding by Obama :) Also, yes alot of applicant's debt-to-income ratio is ridiculous like >200%. However, many people were funded last year whose ratios were about 100% or a little over. Seems like there is a slight downfall to the program-with paying taxes-after paying taxes you may only really receive about 40% repayment. Either way anything helps!!! My debt ratio is onyl about 90% but Im really hoping to be considered!!Question?? Do you have to send a promissory note for the correct documantation on your loans?? I sent other documentation showing dispursement dates and such-just not sure it will be good enough.
