Need support...took NCLEX-RN 195 questions!!

Published

Hey everyone!

I'm new to posting on this site, but I have been reading discussion forums since I started my nursing journey. I decided to finally post in hopes of sharing my story and getting some support. I've noticed that everyone is incredibly supportive here.

Anyway, I took my NCLEX-RN yesterday, 3/3/09 (my sister's bday) and I was SOOOO nervous. I was uncomfortable the whole time with palpitations and a headache. I never felt that way before. When I sat for my exit HESI to graduate I was not feeling that way. The computer kept shooting management questions like crazy...who to assess first, who to discharge, who to assign. I got 1 SATA and 1 med calculation question. I got all sorts of meds (including ginoka biloba) and diseases like MS (I got like 5 questions on this!), Meniere's, COPD, DM.

I was pretty sure I failed because I really wasn't feeling confident with all my answers. I'm aware that I have to wait 48 hours (I live in CA) for my name to show up, but I just really need some support. I didn't really tell many of my friends, family, or co-workers because I didn't want them to know I failed. I have an ICU job waiting for me so this really means alot to me....plus I have alot of student loans to pay off. I've worked reaaallllyy hard to get here and have been on this nursing journey toooo long. Has anyone here passed with a 190 (I'm aware the number may not matter, but I'm going crazy!)?

I appreciate ANY reply...share your story with me...give me some nursing support...anything! Thanks everyone.

Dont worry about it. Relax and take a deep breath. Imyself have bee waiting for the result for 9 days now. California BON takes 10-30 days, they say. So we got a long wait. I myself have started studying again. Maybe Im just being paranoid.. Anyway, smile and keep holding on. Im sure you did fine. Take care

So have either of you heard anything, the anticipation is even killing me, why is CA that way I live in Florida 48 hours and not even that!

Cheer up, you may have done better than you think. This NCLEX is not predictable. Go out and have some fun while you wait for your results. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.:twocents:

Here is my story, I took my boards on 3/2/09, this was my dad's b-day. He died when I was 16yrs and I am 40 now. Anyway, here it goes. I was lost in a snow storm for 2 hours and 45 minutes, I got to the testing center 45 minutes late and they still allowed me to take them. I was the last one in and the 1st one done. I got 75 questions and I tested for 1 hour and 30min. (thank GOD) for my husband and my father whom I considered my angel, because I was a train wreck waiting to happen. I told my husband at least 100 times to take my home and he was persistent because he did not. I found out the next day on 3/3/09 that I PASSED. I say this because you passed, just be confident. Good luck on your new job.

Thank you for sharing your story with me...I had faith and didn't give up and thankfully, things worked out. I'm sorry to hear about your father, I'm sure he's smiling from above and so proud of you. Congratulations as well and best of luck to you!:D

JaebeeRN,BSN, you are welcome. Every since I passed my boards and I tell my story I get excited all over again. I know my dad was definitely with me on my day. Thanks again
