  1. :yeah:I knew you could do it! Congratulations!!!!!!
  2. At my school we took HESI every semester after each specialty and then took an exit HESI to graduate and had to get 75%. I studied the book, case studies, and PracTest questions. If you have the book, the HESI hints are pretty helpful. Math, I believe is weighted more than the other questions because it is a safety question. Good luck to you!
  3. I'm also in CA and I passed with 195 questions. What an odd number right? Who gets 195 questions? Apparently, ME and I passed so there is hope. The number of questions is ONLY a NUMBER. Don't be fooled. Keep the faith-good luck to you!
  4. I'm in CA and my results posted in 3 days. It can take up to a month in California. Make sure they have right address, SS#, transcripts etc. because that can also cause a delay. Hang in there! Try and keep yourself busy-it was torture for me as well.
  5. Hi- I was a unit secretary all throughout nursing school and it really helped my nursing career. I was originally hired to work in the ER (I worked at Starbucks before that) with no experience in healthcare at all except that I was interested in working in healthcare. The ER manager hired me after she interviewed me and saw how persistent and motivated I was to work in the hospital setting. That job opened soooo many doors for me as I floated to other units and built an excellent reputation. I was just offered a new grad position as an ICU RN (they usually don't take new grads) and I can't tell you how happy I am. DEFINITELY re-apply and follow up on the position if you really want it. You've chosen the right path-good luck!:wink2:
  6. AppleDream-Don't give up faith! You can hear back anywhere from 3 days to a month! California takes awhile and because the BRN closes on 1 or 2 Fridays every month so, they're probably delayed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated.=)
  7. Thank you for sharing your story with me...I had faith and didn't give up and thankfully, things worked out. I'm sorry to hear about your father, I'm sure he's smiling from above and so proud of you. Congratulations as well and best of luck to you!
  8. GREAT NEWS!!!!:) I checked early Friday morning at 4 a.m. (I took the NCLEX-RN Tuesday at 8 a.m.) and found out I PASSSSSEEDDD!!! Woo-hoo! Thank you for all thinking of me and replying to my post! I kept reading other people's posts and it kept me hoping and praying for those two letters R-N!! I hope to continue posting and replying to people like me who have benefited from this site!
  9. Hi...I know this is late but I saw your post and it sounds alot like my story. I took boards yesterday 3/3/09 and it sounds like we got alot of the same questions. Only...I stopped at 195. I'm freaking out! I have to face my co-workers tomorrow who knew I was taking it this week, but I didn't really tell anyone when exactly I was taking it. Your story is very encouraging....thank for sharing.
  10. Hey everyone! I'm new to posting on this site, but I have been reading discussion forums since I started my nursing journey. I decided to finally post in hopes of sharing my story and getting some support. I've noticed that everyone is incredibly supportive here. Anyway, I took my NCLEX-RN yesterday, 3/3/09 (my sister's bday) and I was SOOOO nervous. I was uncomfortable the whole time with palpitations and a headache. I never felt that way before. When I sat for my exit HESI to graduate I was not feeling that way. The computer kept shooting management questions like crazy...who to assess first, who to discharge, who to assign. I got 1 SATA and 1 med calculation question. I got all sorts of meds (including ginoka biloba) and diseases like MS (I got like 5 questions on this!), Meniere's, COPD, DM. I was pretty sure I failed because I really wasn't feeling confident with all my answers. I'm aware that I have to wait 48 hours (I live in CA) for my name to show up, but I just really need some support. I didn't really tell many of my friends, family, or co-workers because I didn't want them to know I failed. I have an ICU job waiting for me so this really means alot to me....plus I have alot of student loans to pay off. I've worked reaaallllyy hard to get here and have been on this nursing journey toooo long. Has anyone here passed with a 190 (I'm aware the number may not matter, but I'm going crazy!)? I appreciate ANY reply...share your story with me...give me some nursing support...anything! Thanks everyone.
