Hi All!
I'm a 2009 'New' Grad struggling to stay optimistic! I've been volunteering with Child-Life since October and found out yesterday from the Nurse Manager that there are 3 FT nurses leaving the peds unit in the next month or two. She came to tell me personally that I should look out for the RN posting on the HR website and apply! Well, yesterday it was posted and I applied that night! I'm on pins and needles waiting for the call for an interview..This opportunity would be sooOoOOo amazing! :redbeathe :redpinkhe :redbeathe
The thought of actually being able to start my career/life is overwhelming, but I'm also trying to not get my hopes up too much because it'll be a heartbreaker if it doesn't work out..
Anywho, just sending out a plea for some good juju! (If you have any left - I know it's rough out there for us new grads)
If you need some juju too, post it here, and I'll whatever I have left along :)

If you don't mind me asking what hospital is this?
Also, how did you get involved in volunteering with Child-Life. It sounds like it would be a good thing to do while job hunting..
GOOD LUCK by the way. I hope you hear back soon.
The juju has worked wonderfully!! :redbeathe Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
Got the call today from HR that the nurse manager would like an interview with me next week (Tuesday to be exact)!! Ohmygoodness, this is my dream job! I'm so excited to show them how excited I am to work there! Woohoo!! :anpom:
I'll definitely keep you juju-ers updated :)
Now, back to studying for my PALS class.. (eee! so excited!)
Congrats! I am sure you will rock your interview :)
:yeah:Interview update: As far as I can tell, it went well! It was kind of strange 'cause they didn't really ask me any questions except 'Why did I move to New Orleans from Boston/How long am I going to stay here?' and 'Have you only been applying for peds nursing positions?' They're like we already know you, so we don't need to ask you a lot of questions. I asked everything else from orientation to rn retention to uniforms. I made sure I talked about my love for teaching and learning, and how I'm taking PALS next week..everything I could think of. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much! I reallllllly hope I get it!
I am going to have to be patient though. The unit director is going on vacation next week and she still has more interviews after that, so I have at least two weeks of holding my breath in front of me..
