I live in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area (was born and lived in S. FL almost my whole life) and I'm really looking into to moving to Charlotte, NC. My husband and I are renting and real estate is SO expensive here that I don't know if we'll ever own anything (3 bedroom starter homes in a decent area start at $350,000+). Is Charlotte nice and could I get a nice three bedroom house for around $150,000? Also my husband is Hispanic - do you think he will feel comfortable in Charlotte? We are used to a very multi-culteral atmosphere. thanks for any advice!
I am moving to Charlotte soon as well. My BF lives in Mooresville now, but we will be moving further south to shorten the commute for me. Probably Huntersville area. I heard the traffic is horrendous around this area, but it a compromise since he is working further north.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any information on a new pediatric hospital (supposedly a huge one) that is being built in the Charlotte area. I have tried to look online for it but havent found anything. Any info would be appreciated.
I can't wait to move to NC. I live in NJ now and the taxes are outragous and its dirty and crowded. I have always loved NC. My parents live down there.
See ya soon!

Traffic is horrendous, community is fantastic, shopping is great, school system is a joke, I love it.
I am a native, if you want any info PM me.
There is Jeff Gordon's Children's Hospital at the now CMC-NorthEast (http://www.cmc-northeast.org/child_hosp/Chospital.html) and then someone already posted about Levine Children's Hospital at CMC Main.
I live in South Charlotte and used to commute to Huntersville and it took forever! My old boss had the commute as well (Huntersville to Ballantyne) and he always complained about the traffic. I've been here 13yrs (from Atlanta) and have lived in Concord, University, Steele Creek and now Matthews area. Let me know if you need more info!

Levine Children's Hospital on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center (in Charlotte). It will purportedly be the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

I am wondering if I move to NC as an LPN is there a fast way for me to get my R.N? Would it be better to just go straight for my RN? Im set to start an LPN program here in AZ but it's $7500.00. I checked on the schools there and the R.N program was in the $9000.00 range. Trying to decide which is the better route. How difficult is it to get into one of these R.N prgrams out there????
