Need help, Not Insults..

..Some of you may know my posts, I posted several threads (the last one being deleted on my request)-due to many members in here that hurled insults my way, by calling me "childish", that i needed "therapy" and implying that i was a bad nurse, having never met me or know anything about me. I swore that i would never come back here because of it. But now i need some help with some questions and i dont know sny other better "resouce" than the people that are here.

My story (in sum)

I tested jan 25th

Everyone in my class (people that tested before me AND after me) have all seen their name online

I called the BRN 4 times and they all say the same thing "you file is complete, and it is being "processeed".(twice , they hung up on my-mid conversation)-

questions

#1 The BRn says you can work on your IP liscence UNTIL you get written notice that you "officially" failed. so, from the time they mail you the noitice, and until you get it in the mail-theoretically, you are not "covered"-so if yo make a mistake during this time, ??? whos responsible for you not working with a current liscense ? --what if theoretically, you NEVER receive it in thr mail ?? mail does get lost. You could, theoretically, work indeffinitely ?? up to you 6 months ??---and if you make a mistake, the BRN will say-"well, we mailed off notification that he failed, so his liscense was null and void-so liabilility falls on him", then person A could say "i never received it in the mail" ??---whos at fault here..----why not just Pull the IP liscence off line IMMEDIALTEy ?? when they mail off the fail letter.

as for me, i didnt want to fall under this scenario, cause being sued is not a good thing right now, so last week-i went on a leave of absence from my work place . even though i need the money, being that i am an ex-cop, i can see this scenario where im working, the BRN mails my letter of failure (ending my ip ) liscense and negating their liability on me, me never getting the letter in the mail, and making a mistake-getting sued and the BRN says "well its not our fault"--and me losing my house and everything that i own.

#2 So it takes at least 30 days to get the fail letter (thats what they said), so when i get it.. I can see what areas i am low in...a person can re-test after 45 days. So that leaves me 15 days to "brush up" on those areas ??--i know some people will say "just wait longer to test"--I need the money, i have to get back to work ASAP, taking in consideration the 45 days i have to wait, coupled with the 30-45 days that it takes for notification that i passed (i know that my second time, i will have to wait along time as well). thats almost 3 months !, i have some savings but not that much--

Im studying right now but it seems like i am spinning my wheels.--

i dont see what i can do differently ??-i cant gain "more knowledge" in 45 days, --i like i said if i had my test result back i could focus in on those areas..but i wont have them until AT least 30 days-so all ican do is assume what areas i need to focus on.

#3 many people say that NCLEX is more about "test taking" strategies than about knowledge. I took a NCLEX review course for a week in frisco, they told us many tips--None of which worked, they said--look out for the questiuon that doesnt seem like the others--I couldnt see that on the test, ?!!..they said avoid words like "never" "all" etc...i dodnt see any of those words...so yeas i did take a course and no i i didnt help me.

My wife is a RN and i have all her books and a bunch of my own-i used them all, I did 100+ questions a day for the last 4 months (while i was in 4th sem on)-it obviously didnt help.

I bought the Kaplan book-(it comes in the mail tommorrow)-everyone swears by it so i thought i would get it.

--i know the first thing some people will say is -"you dont know you failed-you havnt gotten the letter"--i say, no one has ever waited this long (im in california)--i hear stories on here about people waiting a long time to see their name online BUT--they are ALL foreign students with no SSN, i , unfortunatley am american born and have one-everyone in my class has seen their name online.everyone..-its going on 3 weeks now--even the lady at the BRn told me and i will quote" The longer it goes and you dont see your name online-the worse it is"..

So please, if you can offer me suggetions/answers to my questions i would greatly appreciate it.and please dont insult me when im down.

Im expecting a baby next month, i have a 2 year old as well-I NEED to get going for my family, i am stressed beyond, i physically ill-waiting like this, checking everyday at 0500 in the morning for my name to "miracuously" to appear..even though i "know" i failed. but cannot get that little voice of hope out of my soul,

7 people found out in 2 weeks

6 found out like in 3 days

1 found out in 2

the rest fall in the middle

with me, the longest at 18 days and counting..

Average is ten days, and can take up to a month. This is actually a very well known fact for CA.

No BON, or the BRN as it is called in CA, will give results over the phone, they cannot legally do that and there is not one that will. How do they know for a fact that it is you?

You do not know how you did on the exam, so even considering preparing again at this time is crazy. Wait until you get your results from them, and if it has been more than two weeks, you may wish to check with them and see if your file is complete. It can be something as little as an issue with fingerprints or that they never received your transcripts from your school in the first place. Remember that CA will permit a CA grad to test before they have a completed file on them, as long as your name was on the roster submitted by your school before you graduated.

And each exam is completely different. When retesting, the computer is not aware that you even tested before, you would be going in with a clean slate and just get whatever the computer gives you. If you do need to retest, prepare again as if you have never tested before, not just in the areas where you did not do well, you may never see that type of questions again.

But if asking for my opinion on this, do not do anything at this time and wait until you get your actual results. You need the time for you right now. Take a few days for you and have some fun, it will prepare you for whatever needs to be done. And do not focus on a retest 45 days later; you are unable to reapply until you actually receive a notification from them and then it takes about a month to receive it.

..I already mailed off my re-admit application with my IP liscense and the 75 dollars last week,,,I want to test ASAP and know how slow the BRN is with paper work, a co-worker of mine who failed her first time said "if you dont see your name onthe website within a week-9 days) mail that check in to get a "jump start" on the paperwork process

If i had waited till i got my results and mailed it that day it would be ..30 days to get Fail letter, then mail in re-app 30 days "processing", then 30 days to give ATT code, then test...THEN 30 days to let me know if i failed or passed again,

Thats 120 days 4 MONTHS "turn-around"..i cant wait another 4 months, to possible yet test again !!..

im hoping that my re-test app gets in as my fail letter goes out, ..i know its a stretch but hey....im due for a little good luck somewhere, somehow

My heart breaks for you. I can't imagine waiting and waiting for results. I would be going crazy too. I would also be studying as you are to get a jump start on things "just in case". I suggest making flash cards of S/S of hyper/hypo K+, N+, and all other electrolytes you can think of, also know S/S of hyper/hypo thyroidism, Addison's, Cushings, diabetes insipidus, SIADH, parathyroidisms, and the like. My questions were like no other, no book or questions I went through before the NCLEX were similar, and I went through about 3-4000 questions. Just know how to put the pieces together "look at the whole picture" when answering the questions.

Please do not send in anything until you find out your actual results, we have seen quite a few here that have waited a month to see if they have passed the exam.

Before you do a thing, why don't you contact them directly and find out if your file is complete? Suspect that there was an issue with something in the first place that was not completed.

Do not go by what other students in your class are telling you, they are not aware of much of what we have told you. The person that told you that it takes four months has no idea of what they are speaking of to begin with, the wait time is only about a month. And taking the exam again as soon as you can is never a wise idea, you need to time to get your brain working again, but then there is no reason to even start to prepare yet as you do not even know if you did not make it in the first place. Just reading everything into it why your name is not up there in the first place. Please take the time to do some reading on this forum and find out how CA does things, there is no reason for me to go into it again here.

You still do not even have your results, you need to get those first before you do a thing again. Does not make any sense to do what you are doing at all.

Thank you so much, im trying to relax but with my second child due on march 10th, Ironically my "official" 45th day that i am "eligible" to ret-test (coincidence or curse ??) , My "plate" as you say is quite full..To add on a side note, (2) of my best friends, like brothers, backstabbed me and ended our friendship instantly and without cause. Soo this has been possibly the worst 2 months of my life, im looking forward to my second child but with no job and the wife down for awhile, its going to get tricky....Financially, emotionally, mentally, and even physically...i think i have aged 10 years these past 2 months.

yes suzzane , i have called them several times, i even spoke to someone "in charge" and she said that my file is fully complete, not needing anything..she said all she could tell me was (2) things.

#1 my file is being processed (im beggining to hate that word)

and

#2 nothing has been mailed to my house as of yet, (i spoke to them this past monday 2/11

My IP liscense is still on there but im not working (see body of thread as to why)

so, the fact is I have to work ASAP, for insurance purposes for my new born baby and providing for my family

And one more thing, if you have returned your IP permit to the BRN, you can no longer work in that role. It is actually required to be available to you to present at any time when you are at work.

So I do hope that you have notified where you are working of the change in your status. You have surrendered your permit for no valid reason, so now you need to abide by the consequences of it, and that means that your pay goes down to that of a CNA, when it did not have to.

We are here giving you advice, and you are free to do as you want. But I want to make sure that you understand what you just did could cost you the job that you had. And it is something that you need to notify your manager of immediately.

Yes,,Suzzane, i know allof this, Please read the body of my thread and subsequent threads...I went on a leave of absence the day i mailed in my aIP permitI will explain this again.#1 the Brn states that an IP liscense is good until you get your fail letter in the mail , In your hands#2 If you never receive that letter, you will still work, even though the BRN has, in effect cancelled your IP liscense, (Mail does get lost),, and your IP liscene will still show online,,#3 if you are in this scenario , mabye you make a mistake..then the BRN comes in..--they say you have no valid liscense, that they mailed you your letter that you failed on such and such date----well you say , you never received it and your IP liscense still shows up onlinewhos at fault ??I saw this scenario, and being an ex-cop that i am, i am all about avoiding liability..sure i would have worked but i didnt like this scenario, I belive that if you fail the BRN pulls the IP liscense offline immediately, but they dont--why ??--mabye cause its an idication that you didnt pass...something they do not want to tell you....(for some reason)...--I proposed this sceanrio to the lady i was speaking to and she saw my point, but says thats the way it is..--So in effect, you can work on an "cancelled IP" liscnece, and in good failth not know it, or your employer..but when things happen...The BRN nor your work place are going to buy that "you never got the letter in the mail" even though you are genuine ??and thats why, i need the money,,but not at the cost of me working on an expired liscense, this may seem paronoid but like i said, being a cop and seeing fellow officers lose everything they have on a "liability" case, is something i really cant afford.
