NCLEX RN 14 times

Published

I'm going to take my NCLEX RN for the 14th time in March. In using UWORLD and Picmonic. My problem is knowledge deficit, memory deficit and anxiety. If I stop taking the Exam, I'm going to forget everything which is worse. I know people who Failed and give up and do not want to be one of those people. Any ideas please let me know and help me.

I am very proud of you because you believe in your self that you will pass your RN NCLEX exam. That's is a good. However, this is a tip for you. If you could at least have a moment of peace to remember those question that you have, the last time you took your exam and if you write it down. Second, find the similar question and read it from the book by system to find out the best answer. Third , read the rationale carefully. The last strategy I could give you is if you could take at least two weeks of off days at work. start to discipline yourself by answering 300 questions per day in three hours(timed pressure). after your take the test read the rationale carefully. Try to have comprehensive exam through computer or through practice NCLEX book with mixed systems questions. You have to practice this within 12 days. and the 13 and 14th day you have to be at peace and mentally prepared to take again your exam and I hope your 15th times is a WIN!

The OP clearly doesn't even grasp the concepts of the questions. She needs to do more than review because reviewing hasn't helped her, at all. No matter how she does it. Usually by reviewing people gain better insight to the questions they are missing. She isn't. A review won't help her because she has to learn the material, she can't learn everything in a review course.

Also, as a practicing nurse I hope she eventually realizes she is not cut out for nursing. Anyone who takes 3 years & 10+ attempts to pass the NCLEX isn't cut out to be a nurse.

OP means Original Poster. In other words, the first person who started thread (topic)

Now I underdtand

I have read all the reasons (excuses) you have given for why you are coming up on your 14th attempt at the NCLEX. I can only leave you with these words of wisdom one of my nursing school instructors gave me..."Excuses are used by people who don't want it bad enough to give their total dedication to what they are trying to accomplish!"

Have you put aside everything else in pursuit of your nursing license? It sounds like you are struggling with retaining basic core content, and if that is the case, STOP giving away your money! If you can't retain the basics you WILL NOT PASS the NCLEX!

Don't be discouraged! You CAN and WILL pass!! You should try Kaplan self paced, in person, or live course. It is pricey but I used this because I thought uworld was not helpful for me and it worked because I passed my nclex! I used the kaplan course for a month and a half... since you are retaking it in march.. but you should still consider trying the kaplan course :) Kaplan helps you how to answer the nclex style questions.

My school uses Kaplan and if did not work for me.

The OP needs more than a review course if she *really* wants to be successful. Clearly she is not grasping the information & you can't review what you don't know. Many experienced, practicing nurses have commented about how dangerous the OP will be in nursing practice. She has displayed many traits that don't bode well for her as a nurse.

It has been 3 years & 10+ attempts to conquer the NCLEX. I honestly would not feel comfortable working next to her or having her be my family's nurse. Some people aren't meant to be a nurse & that is ok.

There's a lot of area of nursing where you don't need to be a bedside nurse. You could be a nurse researcher, a nurse case manager etc.

Another thing, I lost my mother at age 69 due to heart failure. I may still be grieving because of her death, it could be many reason I having trouble passing NCLEX especially I was the main reason taking of her.
