NCLEX Question

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everybody,

This is my first post to the forum, and I could really use some advice.

I am scheduled for the NCLEX-PN on Aug. 9, and while I do feel prepared in most areas, I am having a tough time with Pharmacology. I was hoping that some of you could pass on some helpful tips for remembering drugs & side effects. (Pharm has never been my strong point:chair: )

Thanks so much!

I take N-CLEX on August 2nd. I just got a 99% probability of passing on the Mosby CAT test on-line. NOT sure if that counts or not?

I really 2nd what an earlier comment said though - you're best off learning drugs by class rather than individually. I think - though I've not taken the actual test yet - that if you learn the main probs by class it will give you enough info. Afterall NO-ONE gets 100% in N-CLEX so you will drop a question as par for the course!

Good luck for your test!

I also have mixed emotions about the NCLEX. For example, this morning I was thinking "piece of cake, I know this stuff" -- and right now I am feeling like I will be the only one from my class who is going to fail the test (the graduating class before mine has a 100% pass rate on NCLEX -- no pressure there).

Overall, I KNOW that I will be a great nurse, but it freaks me out when I think about the fact that my entire future hinges on one exam.

I had about five med questions and not one of them listed the classification or gave any hints about what it was used for. My Kaplan reviewer said know a few of the major drugs, but not to waste a lot of time cramming pharm.

I found this website that breaks down the drugs by "take with food", etc....I thought it was helpful :)

Yeah Shan. You know, honestly, I am beginning to doubt myself. However, I did very well my first year in school and I feel I will do just fine no matter how much I study. On the other hand, I don't want to seem overly confident. I have faith and we will do just fine. More than anything, I am ready to get it over with.

AMEN to that.

Knowing that I did well in school (& have been doing a fair amount of studying) does give me confidence that I will pass the NCLEX.

Just think, in less than 2 weeks we will know our results and (fingers crossed) be able to start applying for nursing jobs!

Watch TV, pay attention to the commercials about different medications. All I can say is I had quite a few med questions about teaching on my exam when I took the nclex pn and the majority of them have been advertised on TV. The very best of luck to all of you with the exam!!!!!

Sorry but it is illegal to give your password to anyone else. The password belongs only to you and if you look at what you signed, it says that it will be used only by you.

whoagracie -- that would be great if i could use your subscription...i am willing to try anything at this point. i really appreciate it!!!!!

thanks for the advice, lynn4875!

you cannot use a program like this that is registerd to one person. to do so is considered fraud, and can be prosecuted by the company. this bulletin board is the largest in the world, and what you want to do is legally not acceptable, it is illegal. and companies have filed charged and closed down blogs because of this. please be careful in the future.
