NCLEX-PN study group!!!

Published

Everyone getting prepared for the NCLEX-PN...I have an idea!

Let's use this thread to start our own study group. We can share random information, advice, work on questions, etc. I was looking at the "anyone up for random fact throwing?" thread and that has a lot of great info but it seemed more geared towards RNs, so I thought..lets do one for PNs!!

We can do it totally randomly or we can work by systems, diseases, meds, etc... I have plenty of study books to get me prepared, but I thought this would be a great way for us to help each other and hopefully increase our chances of being successful at NCLEX. :grad:

hey francis...i've been goin over the flow rates (total vol x gtt factor/time in min) and calculating a dose (dose/available x quanity) and some of the conversions. how about you? try not to think about it for the whole 12 days...you'll drive yourself crazy...it seems like you're preparing yourself pretty well so give youself a little break and relax a little...i know it's easier said than done, but breathe...you'll be fine!

how do i add this forum to my favorites? aug 2009 pn graduate..taking exam next month...would love to join this study group! thnks!

francis rey - this is what my clinical instructor, a nurse practitioner, told us about rounding meds:

if the dose is less than a whole number, i.e. 0.578 mL, you DO NOT round up. in this case the answer would be 0.57 mL.

if the dose is more than a whole number, i.e. 1.389 mL, you DO round up - in this case, the answer would be 1.39 mL.

i hope this helps :) ooh, by the way, i got an interview for next week! woohoo! it's not my ideal job, it's in LTC, but an interview all the same!!!

another friend of mine just took PN exam yesterday. she barely got any infection control questions, but my other friend got TONS of infection control questions (what isolation do you use for certain disease, what order do you dress/undress for certain isolation, what implementations do u take with different isolations). so just goes to show...we should learn as much as we can :)

hey, followingmydream! nice to heare from you again,,, indeed we should try to learn as much as we can ! we are at the mercy of this exam , lets juxt hope and pray that some of the question will go our way  its go na be lest than a week for me till i meet my date and i am tired:crying2:
