Everyone getting prepared for the NCLEX-PN...I have an idea!
Let's use this thread to start our own study group. We can share random information, advice, work on questions, etc. I was looking at the "anyone up for random fact throwing?" thread and that has a lot of great info but it seemed more geared towards RNs, so I thought..lets do one for PNs!!
We can do it totally randomly or we can work by systems, diseases, meds, etc... I have plenty of study books to get me prepared, but I thought this would be a great way for us to help each other and hopefully increase our chances of being successful at NCLEX. :grad:
Who's interested??

did you try the the pearson vue trick?
francis - my friend just took her NCLEX and passed! so she gave me a little "insight" - she had very few pharm questions (pt teaching, side effects), lots of infection control, general pt teaching, prioritization was most of the questions. i'm sorry i totally forgot to send u some stuff i will do that okay! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! i'm sure you will do great! :)
thank you for giving me that website about results... but it didn't work for me .... is it supposed to work for california test takers..cuz i took my first exam like 4 yrs ago and since then the only way to find out your results is to wait for it in the mail... and also im not using just one book or 1 cd...im using saunders books and mosby's but my mother insists that i do more than 200 questions per day and that i need to study day and night like 15 hrs . a day. but she doesn't understand that the entire test format has changed and they don't ask you anything from what u have studied. meaning that they dont ask you any specific things about the dieseas, or labs or side effects of drugs nor do they ask you about the dosage formulas that i learned in skool.
I'm totally in too! [terms and rules noted, thanx Silverdragon]
I am shooting to re-take my nclex the end of October. I could use a study group as well as a support group!
I need to find strategies to help answer the questions, it's extremely mind boggling! I read the Kaplan NCLEX-PN, what a great book. I am going to read it again and again as well as do NCLEX practice exams. I really like the stuff you've all posted here. I'm really happy you started this followmydream! I will continue to read and post as I find important topics to share. Thanks again everyone!!!

for those of you who have a hard time with the acidosis & alkalosis, i found a cute test you can take--very short. it actually helped me understand it a little better.

hey francis...i've been goin over the flow rates (total vol x gtt factor/time in min) and calculating a dose (dose/available x quanity) and some of the conversions. how about you? try not to think about it for the whole 12 days...you'll drive yourself crazy...it seems like you're preparing yourself pretty well so give youself a little break and relax a little...i know it's easier said than done, but breathe...you'll be fine!
