i took the nclex-pn last aug.17 and just found out today that i pass! praise GOD! i would suggest that u be familiar with the new questions format...i got a lot of select all that apply q"s....who do u see first..what task do u
assigned to ur CNA....and a lot of pharmacology q's ....there is a book published by lippincott that deals with alternate item questions u can look
it up...it would also help to be familiar with clinical procedures ie..inserting
foleys etc...i hope this will help u good luck!
Buy Lippincott's 250 alternate item questions book!!!!!!!!!!!My NCLEXRN had around 15 select all that apply type questions. I wanted to cry and I would have failed except that that book covers these questions well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck.
I agree with dijaqrn. My Saunder's study guide didn't have new style questions but our instructors had told us about them so I bought the book about the new style NCLEX questions. I took my NCLEX last Wednesday and passed. I had about 10 of the check all that apply questions but none of the others. The practice CAT I took at school before graduation had them all.
I think the main thing with the NCLEX is really reading the question and answering it and not reading anything into it. Analyze the question and answers and don't jump too quick. I was sure I failed as it was incredibly hard.
I took my NCLEX-RN at 9am today (my fingers are crossed) I had 75 questions three were select all that apply and all the rest were multiple choice. Most of my questions were in regards to knowing what patients to "bunk" together and which pt should have a private room, some ped questions, one chemo question and a few delegation questions. I did study but nothing I studied was on the exam...lol. Good luck and I hope I helped.

hey everyone. i've heard alot about the nclex and its material...but i was curious, have they really started using new format questions? example: fill in the blanks, diagrams and charts, multiple-response multiple choice. i first thought it was all just multiple choice, choose one answer. now i'm hearing it's a bit of everything. i had heard that they were changing the format of the questions this year but wasn't sure. i take my test at the end of the month and i'm extremely nervous. it's a bit confusing with 'everyone misses about 50% of their questions" and "just because you missed alot doesn't mean you failed" but i think i have the concept down. thanks for any help guys, and good luck to all other test-takers!
