the results are in....i found out at work....i couldnt stand the anxiety any longer....and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :balloons: I CANNOT believe it! After all I've been through, I finally did it! I had SO many people praying for me---and that helps sooo much! Good luck to everyone else taking their exams, believe in yourself and it WILL happen!!! I know this may sound dumb and I'm sure there are other posts related to it...but does the last question 'make or break' your score? I took the NCLEX-PN yesterday. I know 85 is the minimum so I was getting nervous after I hit 85. I got 2 more questions and it turned off. Now I'm worried because I know you're 'on your own' after 85 and I only got TWO questions. I think I got the last one wrong, so I was just curious if that makes/breaks your test. If I was doing poorly and the computer thought "I just need one more to be 95% sure she'll fail" and then I got cut off, doesn't it mean I probably got it wrong? Somehow I just couldn't see the computer shutting off if you got the last one right. I'm sure if it meant you were obviously passing it could, but I'm 99% sure I got it wrong. When it cut off after such doubt, it only made me think I failed. Anyway...just my venting for today. I find out my results tomorrow. Thanks for any replies. Hey everyone. I failed my first attempt at the NCLEX and am about to take it again. On the letter you're sent saying you passed/failed, on the back it shows each category and 'above passing standard' 'near passing standard' or 'below passing standard'. What's the difference if you're near or below? You either passed or failed that section.....I'm just curious because if I have a few categories that were 'near' the passing standard, do I need to study those harder as well as the ones that were below? I'm only curious...I couldn't figure out the difference, and why they would tell you you were 'near' the passing standard. Ok I Just read this and it sounds confusing, hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about! Thanks everyone! Candice TX

Hey everyone. I didn't have the best of luck with my first attempt at the NCLEX-PN. LONG story...relative had a stroke, I was sick for 3 days before the test, pure test anxiety, blah blah blah. Anyway, I got some good anti-anxiety meds from my doctor I work for, and they're helping with that part. Has anyone used the Saunders Q&A 2nd edition book with the regular Saunders Review? I have both books, but I don't think I have enough time for Suzanne's program unless I move my test date a few weeks. I was just wondering of any other testing materials besides Saunders, as that's mostly what the users on here use, but it obviously does a good job. I also have Kaplan's Strategies book, which does seem helpful. Last point. On the results mailed from Pearson, where it says "above passing standard, near passing standard, below passing standard"....is the only one that actually means you pass the "above passing standard" one? Just curious... ok enough rambling. Thanks guys!

thanks for all the good luck wishes...results are almost in!!! about those...if my state does have 48 hour results, is it 48 hours exactly...or more like '2 business days'. i took mine yesterday, saturday, so does that mean i'll get them tomorrow or probably tuesday? i guess i need to check with the people i tested with... has anyone else tested on a weekend and had their results in 48 actual hours?

okay, here's my story...i took my test today at 11:30. i went there, completely nervous, found out there was a girl with my exact name also in there, and started my exam. at first it went by pretty well. then the questions started getting more difficult, and for a while i felt like i had no idea what some of the words even meant! i swear some of the stuff was information i've never even heard of. it fluctuated from being pretty easy to difficult to back to do-able. once it started getting to 85...i was getting nervous that it'd stop, and i knew i hadn't proven at that point i was above the minimal standard. well.....i went to 153. it scared me because i'm pretty certain i got the last queston wrong, something about orthodox judaism...so hopefully the last question doesn't mean anything? anyway....i'm pretty nervous about the results, but at least it's over with!!! thanks for all the support!!

this is the day! i leave in one hour to go to my testing site. i hate that my stomach is in knots. i'm not even that worried about the test right now, and i'm mentally ok, but physically wow....this test does take a toll on your bod. i feel like i could vomit, but hopefully i will not haha i just have that whole feeling of "i didn't study enough" or "i'm not ready"....anyway just wanted to say thanks for all the support and prayers and hopefully i'll come back with good results. have a great day! candice tx

hey guys. i really like this site-it has alot of cool, useful information. i'm glad to see so many people have passed, and those who have not have such great attitudes towards retaking it. i admire that. i have 3 days left until i take it and i seriously feel as though my stomach is one big knot. i'd hate to go into the test with the knowledge but also with anxiety. i'm sure i'll be nervous...maybe i need to try some relaxation techniques haha i'm curious as to what everyone did the day/night before your test. did you relax and hang out with buddies, catch an early movie and get lots of rest? did anyone actually study the night before, or the day of the test? i think my brain has been completely full with info...many times. i've really been reading kaplan's nclex-pn strategies for the practical nursing exam. has anyone read it, or was it of any help? ok sorry with all the questions...its my nerves talking! i've been a wreck for the past few days and i'm sure i'll be one for days after haha. well i wish everyone the best of luck with their tests, and congratulations to the ones who already passed. hopefully i'll be one of them in a few days. wish me luck! thanks!! candice tx

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to everyone on this site who has passed their NCLEX, whether PN or RN, today or years ago! For all of those yet to take it...GOOD LUCK!!! I'm in the last 2 weeks of my waiting until I take my own NCLEX-PN exam. I cannot begin to explain how nervous I am. I've read so many posts about strategies, books, failures and successes, and it's overwhelming. I think what makes me the most nervous is how they test. My best friend swore she only knew 10 questions from her 90-q test, and she passed. My other friend thought she passed walking out of the testing center, and she failed. I was a B student in school, but I've heard none of that matters. All that matters is if you know how to read the question without reading into it too much. I have studied Saunder's review. I could not do Suzanne's review because I didn't have 6 weeks once I heard of this website. Has anyone used "Prioritization, Delegation Assignment" or "NCLEX-PN Questions/Answers made Incredibly Easy"?? I saw them today at Barnes and Noble while studying and they kind of looked like good books, wasn't sure. Anyway...I'm in the long haul of 2 weeks-worth of hard studying and reviewing. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, and I could use all the help and prayers I could get...PM or email me if you'd like......THANKS!!! Candice College Station, TX

thanks for all your posts everyone! hopefully i'll do as good as everyone here has done. i do have the lippincott 250 new format questions and yes, i would recommend it to anyone along with the saunders i'm already reviewing. it has nothing but the new types of questions and i'm already feeling more comfortable with the 'select all that apply'. do you know how those are graded? is there any partial credit since there's not an exact 'grade' on nclex? i wonder if you get any credit if you get, let's say, 2 of the 3 choices they were looking for. hmmm.....well thanks again to everyone's posts!! look for a post at the beginning of oct. for me. hopefully it'll read i passed!!

hey everyone. i've heard alot about the nclex and its material...but i was curious, have they really started using new format questions? example: fill in the blanks, diagrams and charts, multiple-response multiple choice. i first thought it was all just multiple choice, choose one answer. now i'm hearing it's a bit of everything. i had heard that they were changing the format of the questions this year but wasn't sure. i take my test at the end of the month and i'm extremely nervous. it's a bit confusing with 'everyone misses about 50% of their questions" and "just because you missed alot doesn't mean you failed" but i think i have the concept down. thanks for any help guys, and good luck to all other test-takers! candice college station, tx
