How soon after graduation did you take the NCLEX?
Hello I graduated may 12 and took nclex on aug. 31 and I passed with 75 questions.. I agree with the other posters about taking it as early as you can, i had to have an unexpected surgery or else i would have taken it asap after graduation. Good luck to u

I dont want to do this anymore!!!
I read your post and felt relieved I wasnt alone!! I just graduated in may and just took and passed boards 2 weeks ago and dont have any idea what or where i want to work. Im not too crazy about clinical floor nursing either (I know this cause i hated clinicals during school) Ive had 3 interviews this week for a med/surg floor, an RN night nurse for a ltc/rehab center, and a position for a dialysis nurse which i was very interested in until they told me there would be a 2 week training program that is 5 hours away from where I live. All my friends from school have jobs and seem happy and content but I feel so lost and confused.. Sometimes I feel I really have no interest in nursing but at the sametime being a nurse is all i have ever wanted to be since i was a little girl! and now that I finally am its like i dont want it! I really feel ashamed because I know there are plenty of people out there that would love to have a nursing license and Im grateful that I do but right now im really unsure if its just that im scared about this transition in my life or if i really dont have the heart for it.. did anyone else feel like this right out of nursing school?

Do RNs make more at nursing homes or hospitals?
Hello! I have interviews scheduled this week for a hospital and ltc and was just curious about which one pays more or is it about the same? Thanks for any replies

Nursing Pay
WOW!! I live in a small town in alabama and as a new grad RN I was offered $15.75/hr at my local hospital to start out...of course night shift makes more. I think I need to relocate!

How long can you put off nclex after graduation?
I graduated on May 8 and just took Nclex on Aug. 31... and found out today I passed but I feel its really up to each individual and whether they feel like they are ready to take it.

temptation in NCLEX preparation..
hello! I took the RN-Nclex on aug. 31 and found out today that I passed! Im so happy and grateful. I had 75 questions with most of it being priority, infection control, pharmacology and ob & peds. Im right there with you about procrastinating, but about 5-6 weeks before I was to take Nclex, I started studying for 2-4 hours a day. I would space it out in one hour sessions. I started by answering questions from the Saunders comp review 3rd edition and did the Kaplan question trainer and read ALL the rationales for each question I answered. The rationales offer a lot of great information so I would write down notes on them, esp. the ones I got wrong. (I remember things better when I write them down instead of just reading it) Also, I used the Mosby priority, delegation & assignment book to help practice with those type of questions. It helped a lot! A week before I was to sit for Nclex I had all of these notes to study by and I know doing this was very beneficial for me. Just wanted to share what I think helped me pass Nclex the first time. Also, Know Lab Values! One more thing, I think the Kaplan trainer questions are most like the Nclex exam! Best Wishes to all that are facing the Nclex beast!
