Just curious if anyone knows...Took it Sat. a.m. and paid the Quick Results fee this a.m. to find out I passed...(feel bad for people in the NON-Quick results states--that's cruel)...Now, about how long 'til I"m actually licensed and listed on the NYS BON web site? Do I tell employers at the job fair tomorrow "I passed NCLEX 72 hours ago and am awaiting formal licensure?" The BON has had my application since June so I assume they already verified that I have no criminal record, etc.....Thanks for any tips.

It's been taking about a week (six-eight days) to actually get the license issued and have that number appear on the website. So you can tell them you passed NCLEX, and are awaiting licensure any day now :)

Congrats!

Thanks! ALLNURSES.com comes through again! I didn't realize the wait was that long---sure glad I paid $7.95 to get the unofficial "pass"...Are you going to the job fair tomorrow at Madison Square Garden?

You're welcome :)

Yeah, it takes awhile in NY to get the results. I actually called the BON's phone number daily starting around day four to verify an active license (you can do that at any time, too, it's a 518 number) and nearly keeled over one morning when I HEARD my NUMBER!!! I kept hitting the "repeat" option to hear it again....SO exciting. I then immediately went to the website (again, had been going there daily, lol) and there it was. :D

Nope, not going to job fair, I'm now gainfully employed, but it sure looks like fun! AND you get 50% off Advance Shop stuff (the magazine catalog). Have a great time :)

where I live it has been taking 1-2 days for the number to appear on the BON website for the people in my class. I take my NCLEX tomorrow, so I'll see how long it takes for me!

It took mine about 9 days to appear. I was getting so antsy to be able to sign RN after my name. I was at work when it finally showed up, I was being neurotic about checking the NYS website. Then when I saw it I was mad that I already did my assessments and such cause I wanted to sign RN!

Congratulations, Nyforlove!

I also live in NYC and just found out I passed yesterday. But I am still in the middle of can't believe it is really over. I have not started my job searching yet. Still need to polish my resume. Where can I find the information on job fair? Is that a good way of to look for job? I was thinking just to call all the hospitals that I am interested in...

Amazing. They must've REALLY sped up since July-August?? For my class, June-August was 6-8 days. The BON is the same place, Albany. Go figure!

hi everyone,

[color=#483d8b]clueless here, i applied for licensure in ny passed the nclex on sept 23. i am wondering if i would be automatically licensed without completing the child abuse and infection control yet, are those needed asap in order to have a license number? will it mean no license number if those were not done? im planning to do the child abuse and infection control next week though next week though.

THANKS! You are what makes allnurses.com so great...I didn't realize there was a phone verification line...Here it is for others who may want to check: 1-518-474-3817 (press prompt #4, then #1).

The ADVANCE job fair was crowded and not well-run nor layed out...despite the advertisements, there were NO snacks, nor even water---and I mean NO WATER FOUNTAINS--for several hours (they had coffee early on, but that ran out)...they had nothing to even BUY...this poor LPN who was 8-1/2 months pregnant had to PLEAD with the ADVANCE People to let her have some water from the "VENDORS-ONLY" eating area...Disgraceful...hours later, they threw some cases of soda at us...but, hello, we're nurses--stay hydrated with water--not sugar and caffeine and NutraSweet (and don't promise water if there won't be any)...There's a competitor's job fair coming up in NYC on Oct. 11 I believe at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Times square (around 46th St and B'way). By then, you should know if you're licensed--convenient to meet many recruiters in the same place--assuming they will be there....Good luck.
