My teacher is giving me bad compliments

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

My teacher at school is giving me negative motivations. She is the kind of a person who always have the attitude of "not good enough" I'm taking my NCLEX board this wednesday. And I need encouragement to get myself ready.

My teacher challenged me about not being ready. She even bet that I will get 64% on the practice. I've been studying for the past 3 months, 7 days a week. Reviewed Saunders (the yellow book and the orange book) Reviewed Kaplan techniques, strategies and prioritizes. I'm getting the idea how to answer a question. I got 88% on my practice test. She said that it's not good enough, because it's an easy test. WTH she given me an easy question? Is she trying to underestimate me?

So far, I hate people that give bad compliments just like that. What I need right now is emotional support. I don't mine failing with emotional support. Failing an exam without having any support is a disastrous scenario.

But then, on the other hand. She allowed me to take the test. She said that she don't want me seeing crying after the NCLEX. She just don't want me to see a failure. She is afraid that it will affect the passing grade of the school.

Im so piss right now. Why would I be responsible for closing the school because of a failure.

I give credit for challenging me. I'm an Aries, she is definitely challenging me. She said that if I pass, she will eat her words. If I fail, then I will cry like a baby.

I'm so pissed. Aaaah. I will definitely take that as a challange. I just hated when people challanges me. It really psyche me up.

I don't know if she just doing that in purpose. It really gets in to you when you hear negative compliments. I went to see my teacher for emotional supports, and this what I get?

I know myself that I'm ready or not. She even told me that if I fail, I will have to review all over again. What does she think of me? a Dumbass? When I answer a practice question, I used all the techniques that Kaplan is telling me. I was thinking critically when I was answering the practice questions. I wasn't memorizing. I always ask myself why other options are not correct. I don't get it why all the things a work on is not enough.

My teacher wanted me to cancel my exam because she thinks I'm not ready. Actually, I don't intend to do cancel it. Because, like what I said before.....I know myself if I'm ready or not.

about NCLEX BOARD

- They have nothing better else to do but create a lot of new problems

Failure is failure?

- 1st attempt = 10% out of 100

- 2nd attempt = 20% out of 100

- 3rd attempt 40% out of 100

- I don't see failure, I see a progress

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Failure is not an option. If there is a will...there is a way

P.S

I'm so mad right now. I will difinitely let her eat all what she have said to me. If I fail, I will not let myself cry like a baby. All I can say is that "I did all of my best, and will difinitely pass the next test"

= D

I'm not even a nursing student yet, but from reading your post and all the replies, try not to let this instructor discourage you. And WHY are you still involved with this instructor if you've already finished nursing school? This is my opinion, and it may or may not be the case, but maybe this instructor could be trying to use reverse-psychology on you. She could be telling you all these negative things just to get you to try even harder. I really hope that's the case, but I personally don't agree with that method either. Just ignore all the discouraging words, and concentrate on the NCLEX. I'm sure you'll do great. Good luck! ;)

Good luck! Where do you live that it takes so long to get results?? I would have gone insane without quick results. i knew in 3 days.

Don't you just hate the negativity surrounding nursing school~ it's as though they could care less is you succeed or not

Our school had a 96% NCLEX pass rate and dropped to 84% and who do they blame~ go figure!!

Good Luck to you~~

Well, if they are so worried about the pass rate, they need to realize that it is the school that needs revamping. As long as the student is getting a good nursing education, they should be prepared to take the NCLEX. While there may be an occasional time when a student does not pass (possibly due to test anxiety), a big problem with passing the NCLEX should than be passed onto the school.

Hi guys...just to let you guys know that tomorrow is my 4th week waiting from my Board Exam. Wish me luck that I passed. =D

How come it is taking you so long to get your results? I know many who have received their results within a couple of days.

The last Med-Surg class had 70% of the students fail~ I'm starting to wonder if I have chosen the wrong program for my nursing education~

When I applied the NCLEX pass rate was a good indicator but now a big drop in scores, failing students, and many, many teachers and clinical instructors have left the program~

The week the semester began they had just hired 6 of the 11 new instructors for Fundamental~ of course we find this out just as we begin but many are beginning to wonder what exactly is going on~
