NCLEX in CA, How long before results posted?

Published

I just took the NCLEX Thursday and it shut off after 75 questions. The questions seemed so hard and many from left field...I just don't feel good at all. I am anxious for the results and was wondering what the typical timeline is in California. I know I'll be checking the Web site hourly after this loooong, painful weekend.

So far, it seems to take exactly one week for the results to post on the website for the people that have taken it in my class. I did read a similar post from someone in California that said it only took their classmates a few days to post, so your guess is as good as mine.

It took me almost a month to get my result. But they are ppl who got theirs within few days!!! Good Luck!

There are no definites with California. The biggest problem will be if and when your school submitted your transcripts. California will permit a new grad to take the exam before they have submitted transcripts from the school, the school only needs to submit a list that you are expected to graduate. This is the main reason that there are no early results permitted from CA.

Good luck.................. :)

Hey Soon_to_be! For California it's unpredictable. It can take anywhere from two days to one month. I have had friends have their name show up two days after the test and I have had friends who's name never appeared on the website until after they got their passing results in the mail. So you can never tell. So you could be checking and checking and it NOT show up, so don't think you failed cause it could just be taking longer. Give it time. I would just wait for a mail response, which I hear usually takes between 2-4 weeks as well.

Brandi :)

You can also phone the CA BON to make sure that they have actually received your transcripts. :)

Hi, a friend and I took our boards a week ago Monday (6/20), my name was on the BON site on Thursday (6/23) and I had my official liscence in hand on Saturday (6/25). My friend on the other hand had to call BON to verify her transcripts were actually there and lisence wasn't posted untill the following Thursday (6/30), so I guess it goes to show with Cali you just never know!

I'm now hearing that the California BON website is updated every morning at 2 am?? Is this right??? I still don't have my results!!! And...Is it a bad sign if the last few questions are fairly easy ones??? I think I'm becoming neurotic.

I heard from someone, that heard from someone, that heard from someone that teaches the Kaplan class that yes - the BRN updates their licensure site Mon-Fri from 2 to 3 am. :chuckle I haven't tested that myth myself, but that's what I have heard as well. Good luck!

My best advice: stop being neurotic! The California BON is so ridiculously unpredictable that it is a waste of your precious time and energy to worry!

Why do I say this? Because I took the NCLEX on May 27th and just got my results ... drum roll please ... today!!!!! They are overwhelmed with phone calls and paperwork and a mistake was made on my file somehow and that caused this huge delay. On the other hand, two of my classmates heard in 7 days and 4 days, respectively.

Call and make sure your file is complete and that nothing else needs to be sent or cleared up. Oh, and only check once every 24 hours as they only update Mon-Fri nights (so new results are up Tues - Sat mornings).

I'm sorry I didn't have more positive info to pass along but I know how hard it is to wait when you read this board and everyone else is getting results in 48 hours. As is the case with most things in California ... we're just different!!

Only if they have your transcripts.............do you know for a fact that they do? This is the hold-up of many, and is the reason why there are no early results available from Pearson-Vue.

I am still waiting too. My classmates have had varied timing of results as well. Three took it at the same time and place and one waited 3 days, another a week and another nearly 3 weeks. They all passed with 75 questions. So we wait.....my fingernails are stubs now
