  1. Thanks everyone, for your kind response I know I need a new name now...still working on it...still in shock and a little giddy right now, but I'll come up with something.
  2. I know exactly how you feel but don't lose hope. California is slow and it took them 4.5 weeks to post my license. Some classmates of mine had to wait 3 - 4 weeks and others only 2-3 days, hard to figure. The delays in most cases seemed to be related to transcript issues. I wish you the best of luck and positive results soon :)
  3. congratulations :balloons: :yelclap: :balloons: :balloons:
  4. Well, to answer my own question; Yes you can get passing results after 3 weeks. I finally got mine after 4.5 weeks. :yelclap: California just takes their time. I also had multiple transcripts with BRN requirements, so that may have been part of it. All of those folks still waiting, please don't lose hope, hang in there because you likely passed. :)
  5. I checked the CA BRN web site this am (Saturday) and my name is finally there. I passed and can hardly believe it. I took the exam 6/29/05 and it took over 4 weeks to get results; amazingly stressful wait. For all of you fellow Californians out there waiting, hang in there, and don't lose hope.
  6. I am in the same situation as you are. I am on a telemetry/renal unit and the patients require alot of care. I will be expected to go it on my own with 5 patients by the end of 6 weeks orientation. I am on week 3 and now with 3 patients which already seems to be stretching me; 5 just seems like too many with this pt population. Like you, I have had many nurse/preceptors and have lacked the consistancy of an ideal orientation.Talking with your supervisor seems like a good idea and I may do the same thing at week 5 if I still feel the way I do now.
  7. Thanks Suzanne4, I thought that might be the case.
  8. For California: Does anyone know if the Interim Permit gets pulled from website if you fail the exam?? I am just curious because I am still waiting, but my IP is still active online.
  9. I live in Northern CA in the wine country of Sonoma County. I just started working as a "New Grad RN" and the hospitals around here start at $33/ hr day shift up to $42/hr night shift for and I.P. My PM shift is $37/hr including full benefits. The cost of housing here has gone through the roof The house I own is now worth $725,000 and I bought it in 1996 for $190,000. No way could I buy this house today even with $42/hr.
  10. CONGRATULATIONS :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :yelclap:  That is great!!!!!
  11. I think it is crazy that they tell us not to call because it then takes longer for them to process apps/exams etc. It takes up to an hour of repeated calling and getting a busy signal before being able to talk to someone. Yet it is our responsibility to find out if thay have everything, much of which is out of our control, (livescan, transcripts, or whatever). Frankly, I think it is a bunch of bull. They could easily send a post card with items missing that we could follow-up on or give us a phone line we could check for updates etc. to our file. Thanks, I needed to vent :angryfire
  12. Well, I just checked online and still not there. My IP is still there. It is now 3.5 weeks. If I have to wait 6 weeks, that is just nuts. Lets hope we don't have to wait that long. Good luck!!! :)
  13. I have been waiting over 3 weeks now and nothing. I called the CA BRN last week and thay said I should see something on the system early this week...and still nothing. I am going crazy now My IP is still active and heard that if you fail the IP is removed. Has anyone had to wait more than 3 weeks and still passed? What was the hold-up in your case? Everyone in my class that has taken the test after me has gotten their results...I just don't get it!!!
  14. Yea, it really seems to depend on when the transcripts get to the CA BRN. I had 2 schools transcripts with BRN required classes that had to be sent. I am hoping that that is the reason for the delay. The BRN has them but they had not been fully processed as of last Wednesday. Trying to remain positive
  15. I don't think it matters where you take the exam. I have classmates that took exam same day at same location with various rates of results being posted. Some were 3 days and others 2.5 weeks. I am still waiting after 2.5 weeks.... I finally called the BRN and they said my transcripts were in but my file was not processed yet. She told me they are very busy due to so many NCLEX applications/test takers and that something should be on the system next week. I am not sure what that means but I am holding out hope. Does anyone know if that could be code for passing??? Or am I reading too much into it??? The only way you get on the system is if you get a license...right??? Ugh , I hate this
