NCLEX application in NY for NON-US applicants.

I am a nurse here in the Philippines and it is my first time to apply for a licensure at New York State. I'm processing my CGFNS Credential Verification for New York State (CVS) online, but I haven't completed it yet. I just wanna make sure if I'm doing the right thing. Is there anyone here who can help me or give me information on the step by step process of applying for a license in NY state, from CGFNS up to application at the NY State Education Department (NYSED). I am doing the process on my own and just basing it from what I read from the site and the other blogs here, but I'm still confused. Can someone help me on this? One who had undergone the same process before. Thanks!

I did take infection control and identifying abuse in children if that's what you mean. I took them earlier this year. The service provider where I completed those courses told me that my records would appear in the board of nursing's database once they'd ask for it during my application. Although they'd still give you the option to print your certificates. I still haven't applied to NY BoN since I know CES would take some time to finish. I'll probably apply when my documents were already received by CGFNS. I'm US based, so I don't encourage anyone to follow my procrastination. Haha!

Update: So I called my school last night just to check if they already received my correspondence letter from CGFNS and it has been 2 weeks since they updated it on their website that my documents are "waiting to be received". Unfortunately, they haven't received it yet. Hoping to be done by July with CES.

How's your application going flamingwallflower? Just sent my requirements for NYSED and CGFNS last week..do u know how will i find out if they received my docs already..? I know in CGFNS i can check my proccessing progress thru their website but NYSED doesnt have that kind of thing,, please enlighten me..

Hi there, I'm not pretty sure if the PRC is complying with the certificate of valid license because until now, the CGFNS told me they don't have it yet. They also told me that I shouldn't be involved with their transaction with PRC so I don't have to worry about paying some fees as it is already included in my application fee.

Now with the NYSED application, I haven't started it yet as I am waiting for my documents to be received by the CGFNS to minimize the waiting time for my application at NYSED since it will just sit on their desk pending the release of my CGFNS report. I didn't know you still have to submit your credentials to NYSED aside from the report that's going to be issued by the CGFNS. Do you really have to submit another set of credentials again?

There's a section in the NYSED application that asks for your local license information.

CVS means CGFNS are required to apply for and obtain all relevant documentation? NY BON will make their decision based on what they receive from CGFNS and if further documentation will ask for it then

hi. im also applying in NY right now. you can visit the NY BON website and download the application form. you have to fill it up and have it notarized and send it to New York BON with the application fee. You also have to take the online courses for child abuse and infection control. What I did is i took the infection control and child abuse online and printed my certificate and i send it along with my application form and fee to NY BON.

After 8 months of waiting, CGFNS finally sent my CVS report to NYSED. I received an email from NYSED, informing me that they already received my documents and evaluation time takes about 6-8 weeks. I pray for positive outcome. God bless us.
