NCLEX application in NY for NON-US applicants.

I am a nurse here in the Philippines and it is my first time to apply for a licensure at New York State. I'm processing my CGFNS Credential Verification for New York State (CVS) online, but I haven't completed it yet. I just wanna make sure if I'm doing the right thing. Is there anyone here who can help me or give me information on the step by step process of applying for a license in NY state, from CGFNS up to application at the NY State Education Department (NYSED). I am doing the process on my own and just basing it from what I read from the site and the other blogs here, but I'm still confused. Can someone help me on this? One who had undergone the same process before. Thanks!

Is cgfns exam needed before taking nclex exam for new york state? I've heard from my friend cgfns exam is needed if you're not immigrant in the states,but she is not certain about that information. I wanted to hear more or if there is anyone here have experienced the same situation as mine. I am here in the states as a tourist only and at the same time working on my credentialing evaluation at cgfns as of now.

Hi everyone. I am also about to send my documents to cgfns-cvs. Just a few questions. I paid thru credit card. Should I print and mail the payment voucher together with the other forms that they require me to submit? Or exclude the payment voucher forms since my account status in cgfns says its Paid in full. Thanks!

I received an e-mail which states that the CGFNS - CVS report has been submitted to NYSED. What's the next step? Can someone please share their experience? How long will I have to wait? Thanks.

Hi! If you haven't submitted your nurse form 1 and payment to NYSEd. Now is the right time to submit then wait for approximately 6-8 weeks for the outcome of your application. Good luck!

I already submitted nurse form 1 and payment to NYSed. They informed me that my file has been sent to the Bureau of Comparative Education for the education review. Will just continue to wait patiently for the eligibility letter. Thanks NursePao.

Hello everyone.. I submittemy cvs application last march and as of sept 17 the status of my application is for final review. They already received all the documents from school and prc. I alo submitted my NY BOn application last June. Will the NY Bon allow those who filled up and exemption for both child abuse and infection control?

If you want to be licensed in NY, yes.

But won't it slow down my application since cgfns needs to verify those 2?

Can i just declare my PH license instead and forget about my SG license?.

Not if you want to be licensed, if they ask for verification of all nursing licenses you choose to disclose your application can be denied for falsification/failure to disclose. CGFNS averages 6-9 months to process CVS, I don't think accurately declaring both licenses will slow them down. They won't work any faster if you decide to not comply with the request. Plus if caught falsifying your application but not disclosing all licenses you risk denial of a NY license which will be reported to all other US BoN. Not a good way to start out..,

The choice is yours. Comply with the request or take your chances by falsifying your application by omitting required information.
