Hi Everyone, I am a Liberal Arts student at NCC right now and interested in "Change of Program" to Nursing for Spring 2021. I have almost all the Pre-reqs done with 3.7 GPA. Only thing I worry about at this moment is the TEAS Exam. I did not take the TEAS yet and due to the COVID-19, there's no any test date available in my area. Do you guys know if they would consider my application without the TEAS? Please let me know if you know anything about this situation. Thank you

During the zoom seminar the head of department said it would take two years at NCC to get your degree at NCC, regardless if you have many of the required Gen ED and prerequisites.
Just now, freddyJ620 said:My friend that graduated from Nassau’s nursing program told me even if you have some of the coursework completed, it will still take you two years to get your ASN from them. Then another 2 from SUNY empire (but he told me to look for other options)
Yes this is true. It still takes two years regardless if you have some of the requirement or coming in on a blank slate.

Take your classes completed so far and calculate the following based on your grade:
A= 4.0
B+= 3.5
B= 3.0
C+=2.5
C= 2.0
Then look at each *subject* of your TEAS... They don't look at overall score.
If you scored 58.7-80%, thats 5 points.
81-90%, thats 10 points.
91-100% thats 15 points.
BUT... past discussions on here seem torn on whether or not the science part is counted so make of that what you will.
Lastly.. If you're a nassau resident, you get 10 points. If you never been in a nursing program before thats 5 points.
For me I counted 152-157, because I don't know if science is counted or not
They science section is counted. It wasn’t counted in previous years.

Not sure what my score is. I calculated it a few months ago but now I will have to recal because I can’t remember.
I know I’m not an Nassau resident so I loss 10 but gain 5 for never being in any nursing program.
I still didn’t get an email, perhaps I won’t be accepted or maybe have to wait to see if anyone reject the seat. And that is depending on where I am on the list...
Well... I emailed admissions and... "All accepted students were sent an email to their personal email address yesterday, if you did not receive an email, you were not accepted into the Spring 2021 nursing program, students who were not accepted will receive an email next week in their NCC email account"
Sad to say I did not make the cut. Everyone you have been so kind and encouraging. I wish you all the best of luck in your nursing journey at NCC! Once again congratulations! ❤️
Please don’t give up on your dreams. I have been taking prerequisites classes since 2014 working full time and paying for tuition out of pocket while also leaving on my own with no help what so ever. Just don’t give up !! The feeling once you get accepted is like no other. You will make it too ! Nothing good comes easy ! Best of luck to everyone.

Did you email them today? Earlier today someone on this chat stated the received an approval email at 12:40. I wouldn’t go by what admissions said, we should wait and see what happens. Plus there will be another opportunity if student decline their seat.
