Has anyone Interviewed for NSCC ADN program? please share
Hopefully you will recieve your letters soon. I have some friends who are also still waiting for a response... Thankfully, I was in the first round of interviews and recieved my acception letter a few weeks ago. This is a little off the subject, but does anyone know if financial aid (such as student loans, Pell grants) can be obtained through NSCC for their nursing program? I was thinking earlier today about how NSCC nursing program is not yet accredited, which could make getting a loan difficult. I was told by the nursing department that information would be sent, but I still haven't recieved anything in the mail yet. I also went by the financial aid office and they wouldn't help. I know that I will need a loan, so hopefully this option will still be offered...
Pugmann- I was wondering the same thing about financial aid for the nursing program and everytime I talk to someone in the financial aid department they are rude and not helpful. I really wish that the nursing dept would send us more information this week because I need to know how much money I need to come up with before august. If you find out anything more about financial aid please let me know. At first i was stressing about getting into the program and now I'm stressing about financial aid.
Apptvisys- sorry to hear that! I have been denied since 2009 at different programs and know exactly how you feel. Don't give up! I wanted to give up after I applied for programs for Spring 2011, and was rejected again, but there was nothing else I wanted to do but nursing. It will happen for you! xoxo!
Ok People, I need some advice! I got a call from Aquinas Nursing Department today and I was initially on the waiting list for their program, but they have offered me a spot for the fall. I'm torn between Nashville State and Aquinas. Aquinas ASN program will end up costing me around $30,000, plus I have to take Ethics and Moral Theology (religion courses), plus I think their program is everyday. Nashville State Program will cost around $10,000, it's only 3-4 days a week, but they are not accredited. I feel so blessed to be given these opportunities but I'm not sure of where to go. If any of you have some insight please let me know!
I'd go to Nashville State. I'm sure it will be worth it when you get out, you'll have a lot less debt. My stepdad is pretty smart and he started the Aquinas program a few years ago and ended up quitting, he didn't like it because he wasn't into the religious classes, and he had to work full time while attending and it was too tough to do both.
I actually did get into TSU but I was preferring Nashville State. I'll take what I can get though, I've worked so freakin hard for this.
-apptvisys congrats! I know what you mean. This might go down in history as the hardest thing I've worked for. They sure don't make it easy. I'm leaning more toward Nashville state now. I called around to a few Rn to BSN schools and they said it doesn't matter if I graduate from an accredited program as long as it was approved my the board of TN.
-kay2010 I haven't received anything else and I called to make sure that they received my contract and they said they did. I'm getting a little impatient waiting on them to send us more information.
I received a letter from NSCC nursing program today regarding an introductory meeting. They have a list of websites on the letter for financial aid, but most of them were websites for loans. I'm sure NSCC FA office offeres loans for the program. I called the FA office today and left a message, I hope someone calls me back today.
I hope you're right Harris88. I also received a letter with financial aid info but I'm still a little confused about it. I emailed the NS nursing department asking about applying for financial aid through the NSCC financial aid office. I'll let you know what they say when they email me back, and please if anyone has information on this post it so i can stop worrying! ha

Same here, still no letter. It would be nice if they would post something on their website instead of telling us letters would be sent out on May 1st.. here it is the 23rd and nothing yet.
