No I haven't received anything in the mail or email. I guess they decided not to send out anything since they gave us the info when we turned in our paperwork.

Readergirl- what do you mean by registration? You should already be registered for your classes by Tammy. We have orientation Tuesday at 8AM Pugmann I filled out what I understood and the rest I'm going to leave blank

Also the ISBN number on our form for fundamentals of nursing is for the publishers website. If you go on F.A. Davis website and type in the ISBN you will see the package for $282 and the assessment package is not sold to us as a package. I contacted the publisher (elsevier) and they said they sale them to our bookstore as a package but students can't buy it from them at that bundled price. So the only thing we can buy as a package is the fundamentals of nursing. That's why the ISBN numbers won't work, plus lww says they have no idea why we were told that we could order our books as a package through them because they can only sell books as a package that they publish and they do not publish our health assessment (elseiver) or our fundamental of nursing books (F.A. Davis)

The other 2 books are for 2nd year students, the bookstore didn't list it correctly. The bookstore is ripping off students. I understand that they have to make money but not $700 off of every student. I'm not sure why those books are showing up like that online. I'm sure they are available or they wouldn't have them on the website. I hope this help :-)

I saw those 2 books on the bookstores website and i'm not sure if we need those right now, i'm going to try to find out tomorrow. The bookstore is charging way too much for these books. i think i'm going to order fundamentals of nursing package out of pocket from F.A. Davis and save $184 and the assessment and pharmacology from elsevier and save $100. It sucks to pay that out of pocket but in the end when i get my refund from financial aid, i will end up with $284 more dollars. If you total up all of our books on the bookstore website, it comes to $1363.65.

I just checked and my classes are online for the fall. Finally some good news!!!

Did Tammy mention malpractice insurance to any of you when you turned in your stuff? She told me that we will do that during orientation and that it would be over $100. I'm hoping this info isn't true. That's a lot!

Kay2010- it's so hard to find all white shoes. I saw a pair of all white Nike shox at hibbets And they were $109. Maybe you can check there if you have one in your town.

Has anyone else received an email from Kaplan? Is this what she was talking about in the meeting?

Jellybean01- no i haven't checked into insurance. I have insurance until august 31 but I need to be looking into some. Who do you talk to at Nscc to see about their insurance or is it on the website? I didn't see it.

jellybean01- you're welcome! I am going to order my stethescope through medisave.net . They have littmans at a reasonable price and free engraving. My best friend order one through them and it only took like 4 days for her to get it in the mail. I wanted to see how my scrub bottoms fit before I got some shoes. I have to get my scrub bottoms hemmed because i'm walking on them even in clogs. I'm either going to order a pair of all white clogs from allheart.com or get a pair of all white nike shox, haven't decided yet. There were 2 pair of pants that we could choose from, but I got the unisex bottoms (which is what the men will get) because the ladies pants were very narrow and straight legged and I hate that look. The people at the store were very nice and helpful. I also haven't heard anything about the paperwork. If I remember correctly, she said that it wasn't due until the first day of class so i'm hoping that we go over the papers during orientation. I don't want to fill it out and make a mistake. I thought about making a copy of the packet and fill one out because I don't want to get to orientation and get scrutinized for not having it filled out. Kay2010- I know what you mean. I check everyday and it is just nerve wracking. Tammi said during the meeting that we should all be registered in 2 weeks so we will see come next week. I took my drug test this morning, but i'm not sure if my background check will be complete before the day I have to turn my stuff in. I wish they would have told us during the first meeting that we had to have all of our stuff completed by Aug 3 so I could have started then. They made it seem like we didn't need it until school starts during our first meeting, now I feel rushed.

My sudent loans for the fall are now showing on my account. If you are able to get Your uniforms, I would go ahead and get them. I went to lands today and they only Had 1 uniform in my size. I had to order the other uniform set and it takes about a week or 2 for it to come in. They don't have a broad selection for our school. And there are 50 of us getting them.
