Has anyone filled out the VA paperwork yet? Just looked at it today for the first time and I'm not sure if I am supposed to fill out all questions or if someone else does different parts of it? The attatchment A, continued page is the one I'm a little confused about. It looks like an online form... Also, has anyone gotten fingerprints yet? I'm calling Jenny Cooper tomorrow but I'm not sure what to expect. I wish I would have done all of this sooner! ha

I was told by the financial aid office that student loans should start showing up by the end of this week. I also check everyday because I will probably need quite a bit if I am only able to work 1 or 2 days a week... Hopefully we'll see something soon.

Just called Lentz... I have already had my M.M.R. and Varicella titers done earlier this year at MTSU, so I didn't ask about those. I was told that Hep B will cost 35 dollars and Tuberculin skin test is 10 dollars. I thought that at the meeting they said these would be free for nursing students? Has anyone had these done yet?

Very exciting information! The person I spoke with in the bookstore seemed pretty confident that they were getting the book list. One less thing to worry about! On another note, has anyone gotten their vaccinations yet? I think I'm going to Lentz health center next week. Is it true that most of their vaccinations are free for nursing students?

Harris88- You need to go to the bursars office to sign up for direct deposit. They have a sheet of paper where you put your name, and bank information (make sure you bring a check because you have to give them a void check).I actually did this today... Also, I went by financial aid. They said that loans should be showing up with in the next few weeks and that also we will receive more information in the mail on what to do after that. I stopped by the bookstore today as well, and the lady there told me the same information. She told be that even though the nursing department has not given them the information yet, I can rest assured that they will eventually get there. She said that there is nothing to worry about, but also said that the nursing department is very late in giving them the list... At this point, I'm considering buying earlier editions of these books online just to get me through the first few weeks in case we can't get our books until after class starts.

Has anyone's loan information showed up yet on the mynscc website? My pell grant is on there, but the loans are not listed at all. I applied for both subsidized and unsubsidized maximum amount. Should this information show up at the same time as my pell grant or next week, or after we are signed up for classes? Sorry about all of these questions, but I have never signed up for a stafford loan and I do not know how it works... Also, one of my friends said that they got a Barnes and Noble discount card for 25 bucks, and got all of her books for less than $400. I haven't actually looked into that yet, but that may be a good place to start. I'm in the same boat as all of you, I was relying on Pell grants and loans to help me by books.

I agree, this is very stressful. My Pell grant came through today, but no info on the stafford loans i applied for. Does anyone know if the eligibility for loans are supposed to show up on mynscc? Do they show up after grants, or at the same time? I am going to stop by the Financial aid office Monday, but now I am stressing that I am not eligible for loans.

I emailed the NSCC financial aid office last week, and they informed me that student loans and pell grants (if you qualify) should show up on my nscc either this week or next week. Even though we will not be signed up for classes until mid August, this information will be on our account and we will not be purged from classes.

I was wondering the same question. Also, if we aren't signed up for classes until the middle of August, there will be no award or Pell grant to use until then. I'm a little stressed about this now because I was planning on using my Pell grant or student loan to cover books and it may be too late by the time we are awarded. Hopefully some of this info will be covered next meeting.

Jellybean01: Thanks for the Pell Grant info! I've been so stressed out about this lately and I feel much better now!

I hope you're right Harris88. I also received a letter with financial aid info but I'm still a little confused about it. I emailed the NS nursing department asking about applying for financial aid through the NSCC financial aid office. I'll let you know what they say when they email me back, and please if anyone has information on this post it so i can stop worrying! ha

Does anyone know if you can get federal student loans and financial aid for this program through the NSCC financial aid office?

Hopefully you will recieve your letters soon. I have some friends who are also still waiting for a response... Thankfully, I was in the first round of interviews and recieved my acception letter a few weeks ago. This is a little off the subject, but does anyone know if financial aid (such as student loans, Pell grants) can be obtained through NSCC for their nursing program? I was thinking earlier today about how NSCC nursing program is not yet accredited, which could make getting a loan difficult. I was told by the nursing department that information would be sent, but I still haven't recieved anything in the mail yet. I also went by the financial aid office and they wouldn't help. I know that I will need a loan, so hopefully this option will still be offered...

Nashville State CC Nursing Program Student Loans
I was just accepted for the NSCC nursing program a few weeks ago, but I am a little worried about how their federal loan program works. I know that this nursing program is not technically accredited yet, and I'm just wondering if I will still be able to recieve loans as well as Pell grants through NSCC? I've tried calling the nursing department and they told me they would send information in the mail, but I still haven't recieved anything yet and there's only 1 month left before I can apply for a loan through FAFSA. I also went to the financial aid office, and the lady there didn't seem to want to help and just gave me a generic student loan handbook. I just don't want to wait until last minute and freak out right before classes start (like I always do). I'm assuming they offer student loans, but it would make me feel much better to hear it from someone who has actually gone through the process. Thanks!

MTSU HESI A2 (Physics)
I just took the MTSU HESI this morning, and even though they say "all parts are required", Physics is not included. I spent a while studying over this section (since I never took Physics), and asked advisors and no one could tell me whether Physics was included or not. Just wanted to post this so you know not to waste your time memorizing physics formulas.
