In one to two months I will be taking my exam, this thread is an online log to track my progress.I figure if I do it on my own, it will be most likely to FAIL. So Im here, taking all the risks. I know its hard to do it on my own, so I need some encouragements from everyone here (if possible).
So far, I gathered all the resources I need:
Books: LaCharity, Saunders, Kaplan and (to purchase) NCSBN online review.
Place; I mostly can focus on a not-too-noisy places, Library is one of my fave.
Lastly, to everyone who will be taking taking there exam this coming May or June,
I wish you all luck!
In the end, our strong faith to ourselves and the Divine will make us all reach success!
Cheers!
Hello all,
I am new to AN, i graduated from nursing school May 2011 and have taken my boards once in September 2011 and have been in down, afraid and not knowing where to start over to help me prepare for the NCLEX again. But looking through this thread has really been motivating and inspiring, I would like to thank you all for all of your encouraging words. Right now i am trying to create my study plan and need a little help. I have seen that some of you are doing the NCSBN online review and today i just ran across NCLEX-RN 10,000. Which one do you guys think is better because i can only purchase one. I already have the Saunders Review and Exam Cram and looking into getting LaCharity also. Need help on where to begin.

Now after 10, 11 years going back to study from home and trying to get prepared for Nclex. But im having hard time memorizing and what i have read also having hard time putting all my focus:banghead: Pls any suggestions thanks all.:thankya:

Its never too late to do what you wanna do.
Gather yourself. Then the resources.
Plan the time frame and study schedule then everything will fall into their own place.
Goodluck!.. I salute you for never giving up on Nursing.

Just begin with one resource material. You'll get overwhelmed with too much stuff.
I took the NCSBN 5week course, I just finished it. Now Im doing Saunders and questions. Goodluck!
Hi everyone..
I've now finished my 6-week saunders review (yay!!). Did about 100 questions today on PrepU 75-80% range. Also reviewed some skills from the fundamentals book to brush up on proper procedures on ng tube, enemas, suctioning etc. all that nitty gritty stuff from 3 years ago!! I also finalized a 15 page home made study sheet with all different med classes, side effects, important info etc. Put those in page protectors and on a ring to carry with me :)
My plan tomorrow is to take my saunders comprehensive test, and then read up on the areas I scored lowest in. Then do 50 more questions on prepU for those areas.
Saturday evening I am leaving for a small trip to Florida as my graduation present; won't be back til late Tuesday. I am VERY nervous about the reduction in study time this close to my exam date, but I plan to bring my home-made medication study sheets and a review book for the plane ride (2.5 hours) and I just downloaded a couple q&a apps on my iPad I hope to do at least 25 questions a day so I don't feel so guilty :-/ Once I get back I only have a week left of studying before the big day!!!!
Starting to get really nervous ....my exam is 2 weeks from tomorrow

I want the PDA 2nd so badly (it kills me thinking what questions Im I missing) but i think Im just gonna stick to this one because some people who recently passed the nclex used this edition and find it to be helpful.
By the way regarding your Case Study DKA I dont think your dumb, its nice to see questions you dont know what way when you see it on the real nclex you will be confident. :) also you been getting good scores on your reviews so yeah your not dumb.
