Yesterday was my second day as a graduate nurse in the ED and right around lunch I could hardly walk. When I got home my feet were throbbing so bad....I would say a 10 out of 10. I have the Dansko Clogs which to me is very comfortable and I broke them in for 3 weeks before work. The first day was fine but the 2nd day in a row was just horrible. Please tell me this is normal for a student that has been sitting down for 4 years.

I now use compression socks (I've found that the socks stay up better than stockings). I no longer have the pain. Several of my friends also complained of the same pain, and were surprised that the compression socks did the trick for them as well.

I bought the Shap-Up shoes and my feet don't hurt after wearing them, but the back of my legs do....but that is the nature of the shoes

I found them better than any of the nursing shoes. You have to make sure what you have has the kind of arch support you need. What is comforatable for one person will be agony for another.
