Hi everyone !!! After 5 years I finally decided to pick up where I left off. Time to apply for nursing school
Application period is July 1st - September 1st. I'm coming in with 54 points pre-HESI. Just wanted to wish anyone else out there applying to Mt. SAC good luck with the HESI tomorrow
I have yet to see a thread on this particular application period for Mt. SAC so I hope many more join this thread as we proceed with this tedious journey.
RCC is riverside college? Is their timeline similar to Mt. SAC in regards to acceptance letters? I'm checking my email daily too and I just wanna know already!! Does anyone know how the fees work for the nursing program at Mt. SAC. Is it just per unit like other courses on top of background check fees, books, insurance, uniforms, etc.
no, they are different in the way that they don't have a date where preliminary candidates come in for an appointment before the official acceptance letter date set for December ( they wanna make or break someone's christmas :'( ) so like mt sac you pretty much know you got a shot if you make it passed the first round and get a email a month after application deadline.
Oh crud forgot to answer about the fees . Honestly I don't know and I haven't seen it on their site but I imagine it being like other schools (not trade schools though) where it isn't a lump some. I imagine you pay the units enrolled in, uniforms, books, insurance, background check too and the rest as you go
Email received appointment made :) thank you God! Still praying we all get in! Dont forget everyone to check in after their appointments and see what the counselor says. Every bit of information helps ! Only if you don't mind of course . They may tell you what your chances are as well and where you stand on the list. Best of luck to us all !!!!
If anyone hasn't received the e-mail, check your spam. If you get your Mt SAC email forwarded to another email account make sure you login to your Mt SAC email! I never login to check my email, but I logged in to change a setting and BAM there was the email. It never got forwarded. That happened with the e-mail from them about the HESI exam too. Not sure why the emails regarding nursing are NEVER forwarded!
I'm going to be scared to ask where I stand during the appointment, but I think I will. Does anyone want to share their stats? I'm coming in at 82.5-84.5 points depending on whether or not they accept my life experience paperwork.

Also @Yclario, I've heard people say that in previous years they show you where you are on the list during the appointment.

Yes your right! Based on the previous blogs of mt sac application process, they do tell you where your land in the line... Eeeek! Super nervous but I will be happy to share where I stand and what they say the moment I get out of the meeting. I meet with them on 10/5. Btw everyone make sure your official transcripts are no more that 90 days old! Would be a shame to not make the cut for timeline restrictions.
