Mount Sinai ABSN Summer 2020

Hi all,

Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?

Hi everyone,

I mailed in the transfer/candidate forms along with the admissions fee. But it was "refused by recipient" and mailed back to me. Has anyone had this problem before? I am also having trouble reaching PSON by phone.

thats so bizarre, I mailed mines yesterday and it was received today. Did you mail it to the address specified on the form?

On a related note, I finally got an email today sharing how I could send the materials online...after mailing it yesterday LOL. Sharing for those who just got accepted: reach out to Tuan a few times so that he can help you do it online so you don't need to expose yourself at the post office.

I did. I'm not sure why it's being sent back but I emailed Tuan. Hopefully, the 2-week acceptance widow isn't as strict if I'm having shipment trouble? (I live in Ohio.)

@Alpha Lyrae LOL!

it seems there are very mixed reviews about this school. I was just accepted to wagner, still waiting to hear back from NYU and I have an interview with PSON coming up. The location of the school is a bit of a deterrent from me being all the way on the opposite end of Brooklyn it would be a 2 hour commute each way to Harlem. Is that where their new school would be in the Fall??

In all seriousness, each and every accelerated program is always going to get mixed reviews. It’s very difficult to cram an entire curriculum of nursing school into 11 to 15 months. There’s always going to be logistical issues and you’ll always feel like you’re really not learning anything.

You need to be really self disciplined and really need to know how to study independently. All nursing school is is a key to take that NCLEX exam. I’m going to be taking mine in December or January and I’m literally only using UWorld as opposed to anything I “learned” in nursing school.

It’s tough but extremely doable. The one program that I will never, never recommend to literally anyone is Pace. I have friends and colleagues who are attending NYU, Mount Sinai, Wagner, and everyone literally is speaking along the same terms.

You honestly can’t “choose” a wrong program, it’s all going to be very similar in nature.

side note: since the fall and Summer cohorts are being combined, does anyone know how many applicants they are accepting ?

@Alpha Lyrae just out of curiosity why wouldn’t you recommend pace to anyone?

It’s an absolute nightmare of a program where administration is completely oblivious to almost every single concern that students bring up. There’s a lot to say and to explain about that program and if I were to explain any further, it would literally derail this entire thread.

@Alpha Lyrae I have recently heard similar things about Mount Sinai's program, unfortunately.
