  1. @lyz33673 yes it is about 100k I believe, sadly. Wagner is a little less/closer to 75k, with the 10% tuition discount for nursing schools.
  2. Hi @sha17! Are you coming from Staten Island by any chance? I ask because I am from there and I have the same commuting concerns! I also got into Wagner LOL
  3. I understand what you are saying, but what you are saying about Pace, I have heard about Mount Sinai. I heard even worse things that I will not discuss here. I am clearly stating, I do not know if what I heard is true. I did not hear similar stories about other programs. I, and I think others here, are making a life changing decision. I am not going into this for money or a three day work week. I am changing my entire career and life for this so I think its fair to want to be on a forum sharing thoughts and feedback regarding what we have heard and what we are considering to help each other think things through and make the right decision.
  4. Totally agree it is subjective because I heard different feedback on NYU. I also went to law school and worked as a lawyer for a few years so I am used to having to do your own work outside of class and figure things out yourself whereas students right out of undergrad may not. Because of that, I also don't know how much credence to give to those specific concerns (I.e., teachers not providing much help outside of the classroom). I am also in a situation where I know I want to go for NP, NYU has those programs and they give preference to their students for both the NP programs and employment at NYU. Mount Sinai is like half the price, but it is a newer, less established program. I think to some extent, the decision depends on what factors are most important to you.
  5. So I will tell you what I was told by current and former students, but I just want to be sure to clarify that I AM NOT saying this is accurate information. I had heard that the program at Mount Sinai has changed a lot, many of the good faculty is leaving and the remaining faculty is not helpful. It was advertised as a hybrid program, but it is not. I assume this is because they are moving to a new building, but no longer being hybrid was not communicated to me. I heard students often have to fight for good grades and you constantly feel like you are on the chopping block and at risk of failing. On the other side, I did hear from one student that this is true to an extent, but if you just keep your head down and work super hard, you will get through it and pass the NCLEX, but it won't necessarily be an enjoyable experience. Comparatively, every Wagner and NYU student have expressed that their ABSN programs were challenging, only had positive things to say about those programs.
  6. Thank you, @Alpha Lyrae. I appreciate getting any information I can. I am deciding between NYU, Wagner, and Mount Sinai. I thought I would go with Mount Sinai, but some things I have heard about Mount Sinai were alarming to me, but it is way cheaper than both NYU and Wagner so I am having difficulty choosing.
  7. @Alpha Lyrae I have recently heard similar things about Mount Sinai's program, unfortunately.
  8. @lovelyflower21 Thanks for all of your advice. I was just accepted to PSON and am deciding between there and NYU. I have heard some conflicted advice and wanted to chat with you a bit more, if possible. For some reason, my all nurses account will not let me inbox you. Any chance you can inbox me? I would greatly appreciate it!
  9. Hi! CONGRATS! I don't know if this was mentioned, but I spoke to someone in admissions and there is no longer a separate Spring and Summer cohort. There is one cohort starting August now. Is anyone making a facebook page? Would love to connect with other people who will be in my cohort.
  10. Hi! I just got accepted to the Fall 2020 cohort. I am so excited to start! Is anyone else here going to be part of the fall cohort starting in August? Would love to connect with some people before starting the program.
  11. Hi Celine! CONGRATS! I am super excited to actually "meet" someone else who is thinking about attending. I was just accepted as well and plan on attending. I am from New York, but I will be commuting from Staten Island. I was accepted to Wagner College (It is on Staten Island so more convenient) and NYU. I am choosing Mount Sinai. First, Mount Sinai provides you a clear list of tuition and fees here (https://www.mountsinai.org/files/MSHealth/Assets/PSON/Tuition-ABSN-Fall.pdf). I found it harder to calculate the exact cost of NYU and Wagner, but, IF I remember correctly, both were at least 75K without additional fees. Considering NYU's prestige, this left me deciding between NYU and Mount Sinai. While NYU has a lot of prestige, the Mount Sinai hospital system has a great reputation and that is where, as students, we will get to do our clinical rotations and network for jobs after graduation. This is just my thought process, but others may be thinking of this differently. I feel like the difference between the hospitals was not enough to pay the extra cost of tuition for NYU. Would love to chat more here or offline!
