NJ22 yes, lots of theater and show choir people  at that party

Ado I hope your toe is better today

Tweety have heard that Barbie is pretty good

Stars it was good that he wasn't hurt bad in those falls, too bad he's not more aware and cautious

Ended up not going to church yesterday due to dealing with a car issue

The previous day I had noted that I was getting low oil warnings when I made sharp turns.  Yesterday morning I checked the oil and it was quite low.  Had to wait until the auto place opened up and got some oil, then had to wait until the engine  cooled down enough to fill it.  By then church was over.  Going to monitor the oil levels weekly to see if this was a one time thing or a continuing issue

The rest of the day was pretty quiet.   Did the cooking for the week.  Went for a bike ride. Watched North by Northwest, which I hadn't seen in quite a while.  Had 2 white Russians

Today should be a fairly ordinary day, as long as work remains OK

Will be another fairly warm day in the mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you're car isn't having a major issue.

Geez Stars, why don't you just put them both in a nursing home and move to Florida.

Glad to be off.  Yesterday started off with a no-call no show RN that is a pool nurse that said the manager never confirmed with her that she was working and would not come in.  I had 8 patients until about 9AM when they were able to send someone.  Our tech had 20:1 ratio.  We had a fall, and towards the end of the shift an elderly patient had a stroke, and at 6:45 the ER is calling report on an admission.  Those are just the highlights.

Not sure if I mentioned I got another reject on my $350 expense because it didn't have a date even though I sent the receipt in two parts.  I made one final appeal to the auditor then I'll let it go. It's the principle of the thing.  It's a benefit I have any they are being very nitpicky about the receipts.  The CEO or our "not for profit" organization makes 2.9 million a year.

Jeez, Tweety, why couldn't you take on the techs' 20 patients as well???? That so-called "staffing" is so ridiculous; it makes ME mad and I don't work there (duh), but if I did.....well, I'd probably get fired for the words I'd use.

And I can't put 'them' in nsg homes, though I sure wish I could; Too bad I have to keep hoping for a hit on a sweeps or lottery, but that's magical thinking, too. I can't sell the house, because Nannie has to be 'gone' first. I think I should call the lawyer and ask if I am or can be listed as a POA; I know hubby is, and if he goes before she does, everything is left to me. But I think the POA is only to one person, and legally, it ain't me, unless hubby passes. I tell hubby ( for all the good it does) that if something happens to me, he and his mom are just sh*t out of luck.

I'm not at all sure I'd want to move to Florida (for several reasons) and I sure as heck don't want to move north to Maine where my hoarder sister lives. Will just have to see how this crap plays out; something's got to give and I don't want it to be me.

Well I'll be an egg-suckin' dog! Guess who just now fell in the kitchen? He said he "missed the chair" and it slid out from behind him. Got him up without having to strain myself, but this is so sickening.

Well the GOOD news is I saw the PA about my left shoulder and she said if I could come in a little before one o'clock today, she'd give my shot of the  Lidocaine/Prednisone. Tomorrow I have an appt. w/ the psych doc, around 11 AM,  and then Wednesday hubby finally has an appt to check the left eye that has been bothering him. They also have his new glasses to pick up. I don't know why he bothers if all he's going to do is fall on them again. SMH!

Welp, I have to make sure he can come down and sit in the den in his recliner so I can go to get my shot.

-sigh-

It was a tongue in cheek statement Stars, I know your hands are firmly tied.

I hope I can turn on my filter and not get fired tomorrow.  We're supposed to have Press Ganey people (I think an in-house committee) observe our huddle and bedside shift change report to help us with our low customer service scores.  As if shift change report and white boards are the answer to working 6:1 with no tech.  I will try to be good though even though it's demoralizing to have them watch us do report when that's not the root cause of anything related to patient satisfaction on my unit.  I don't care what the national research says.

?Harumph, Tweety! So I guess you aren't looking for a room-mate! ? Just as well. I'd prefer to live alone. I think I'd get the hee-bee-jee-bees if I had to be in Floreeedah for more than the 2 weeks we (once upon a time) used to go down to Sarasota. Anyway, summertime there is HOT. Heck when we were down there once between Feb and Mar, this girl said to me that she just loved the springtime there....which shocked me because that particular day the temp was 93 dgrees, and excuuuuuse me, but that is not Spring! Anyway we spent 1/2 the time with my mom, and 3-4 days mid-week in a rented cabin at Mayaka River State Park. I'll bet the cabin rental costs WAY more now than we used to have to pay, which was only $50/day!

I've rec'd my L shoulder injection, and in 2 weeks I can go back for another shot, this time in my L hip. Oh happy day! (seriously!) The shots chase the gypsies away for a good while; well, except where I DON'T or can't get a shot. They don't 'do' knees. // It amazes me that I will get sharp shooting pains on the lateral side of the left knee, and then a day or two later the pain is all gone and I can walk with my normal stride. That's where I got the idea of "the gypsies" because of that rheumatologist said, instead of the fibromyalgia he speculated I had, and I refused to accept that diagnosis,  (I know, I know, I've told y'all this before....) that's when he said "We'll just call it 'wandering arthralgias and myalgias." <That spelling looks skewed!

EEeeenwayz, that's it for now. I hope and pray I have no more falls to deal with today! I had to put a lidocaine patch across his mid-back after he fell in the bathroom last night. TSK!

As usual Nannie is sound asleep in her recliner. Hubby went upstairs while I was gone (ggrrrrr) I told him to stay put, but he don't listen to meeeee! I always wonder if I may come back from somewhere and find him in a heap with injuries, or no pulse. OH WELL! Can't do anything about that OR him.

We are HOME from camping trip to local mountains!  And, a Belated Happy Birthday to you, No Stars!

Tweety, hope today's shift is do-able.  I just don't understand the logic of under-staffing, what with studies that show falls and problems increase with decreased staffing.  Ya need ALERT, ATTENTIVE, NURSE-BRAINED BODIES to keep units running well and keep patients safe.  But, you know all that.  Again, hope the shift is smooth.

Joe, good catch on the low oil situation.  Wonder if you have a slow leak??  I don't think I have ever seen North by Northwest, though it is supposed to be one of the "classics."

We got home around 12 today, after dropping the RV off at the storage place.  Food is all put away.  Cats are glad we are home (and would dearly love dh to feed them!!).  Dh just finished making reservations for 6 days in September, as friends already have sites booked then, same campground (that means daily jamming, y'all!).  We still need to unpack, but that will get done.  Repairman is coming tomorrow afternoon to check the dryer.

Oh, and when we got home, I checked the "garden" (the three plants), and we got to enjoy SIX yummy cherry tomatoes!  More to come!

Following are a few photos from the campground.  It rained on and off, yesterday, which was very enjoyable to experience!  I walked the four campground loops (= 1.4 miles) three times, so I wasn't a total slug!  I read two books and am in the middle of a third (murder mystery series).  We played the instruments an hour or two each day.  Fed the ground squirrels and Stellar's Jays the raw walnuts, and then today I gave the squirrels the rest of the carrot and celery sticks.  They seemed to prefer the carrots, --- duly noted!

Welcome back, dianah! Great pictures.

Tweety, those aren't safe numbers. But yeah those white boards are what will fix everything. ?

Hubs raves about North by Northwest but I have to admit I fell asleep. It is so long. Cary Grant is nice to watch, though.

We are camped out at the Holiday Inn Express. Hubs and Twin A went to the house after the guy was finished and it is still very hot. It's 106 outside and hotter inside. Twin B is online playing D&D with his friends. Gma is sitting in the corner muttering.

The hamburger I had for lunch had jalapeños and I'm plagued with heartburn. Nevertheless, we'll probably get pizza delivered. The pets are boarding at the vet overnight. All in all a very expensive venture to get rid of those d*mn bugs. Made sure to at least enjoy the pool for a bit this afternoon. I plan to head back out there after dinner, too. Back to work tomorrow after picking up the pets.

Hi. We had a day of intermittent rain, which is wonderful. I had a nice walk/jog in the rain this morning. I washed some clothes in anticipation of packing, tomorrow. And finished up a few travel arrangements. Gosh, I miss the days of travel agents who did all this for you: plane tickets, hotels, car rentals, etc. We are using a service called Turo to rent a car. Essentially, people rent their private car to you, sort of like AirBNB. And I picked about a quart of blueberries.

We delivered blueberries to grandson, and his lava lamp that he bought on the trip and left in our travel trailer, plus some left behind items of clothing. I wished his brother a happy birthday, one day late. We ran a few errands. I will need to go back to Costco tomorrow because there was no way I was going in there at 430 at night. That seems to be a very busy time. I wish they had a drive up window, but Im sure they want you to walk by all the samples and pretty TVs and electronics.

Dianah, lovely pictures. Wow, aren't fresh tomatoes good?!

Ado, I really hope your bugs are gone forever!

Joe, ugh, car stuff. I hope it isn't anything serious.

Good grief, Tweety. Maybe the white boards can turn and potty the patients? I noticed during ds's last visit, the nurse's name and the aide's name were up to date, but diet, activity level and plan of care never changed. Her discharging nurse was my hero, though, for pushing for a discharge pain RX.

Stars, I hope your shot(s) do the trick. I had one once and it freaking hurt and did not help. Reason #1253 why I dislike going to drs.
