Hello, Im finishing my last semester of ADN. So I'm feeling the pressure of in a couple short months transitioning into a nursing role.
Im a waitress right now and today i got scammed by a hustler. I felt so stupid for the mistake I made and am beating myself up over it. Im the person where i normally learn from my mistakes the first time and TRUST me, I won't make this one again.
I'm also kinda clumsy sometimes, during clinical I fumble a little bit with flushing IV's and such.
it got me wondering.... can I still become a good nurse? Do you ever get kinda clumsy while working as a nurse or make silly mistakes?

Actually, no. I am always perfect, NOT.
It's funny you're a waitress. In out patient surgery we offer the patients apple or cranberry juice. So I ask them what they want, take 4 steps away from their bedside and forget what they said. I laugh at myself, go back to them, say I'd make a terrible waitress, and ask them again.

Would you consider joining an order of others who beat themselves up, Futurern2b?

I'm a waitress too! Well, I'm between a waitress and a nurse, ha. "Hi, I'm Dee your waitress nurse."
Sorry you got hustled. I wouldn't say I'm clumsy, but I definitely start new things out sloooow. Like holding a syringe in the right way or adjusting it in my hands... something as simple as flushing an IV or pulling up insulin may look/feel awkward the first time or two.
Were gonna be great and get the practice we need to not look "clumsy" when we're doing stuff.
Good luck!
