This was the 2nd time I've missed my clinical day because I did not hear my alarm clock!!! It is so frustrating. It's considered "no call no show". my instructor woke me up at 9 and just railed me about it because this happened twice! no more excuses I can think of. I'm just so disappointed and frustrated with my alarm clock. Guys, what can I do about this? one more day of clinical tomorrow and I'm all done!! I just want to wake up in time to go to clinical tomorrow morning and be all done with it. anybody want to give me a morning call? jk lol

Get a new alarm clock! One that's super loud and rolls off the night table so you have to get up and chase it around in order to turn it off. Hard to go back to bed after that.
lol, thanks Boog's Girl....I really don't know what happened this morning. I'm actually thinking about not going to bed at all today and just stay up until it's time for clinical

Seriously, get a new alarm clock...or a second alarm clock...or both. Have a friend or family member who gets up early give you a wake-up call. And go to bed very early tonight! I wouldn't stay up all night just to be on time, as you'll be tired throughout clinical and thus possible danger to your patients...and that's far worse than being a no-show.
For the next batch of clinicals, get the new/2nd alarm clock, and get into the habit of going to bed very early the night before. I used to have to get up to 4am for clinicals--the night before I forced myself into bed at 9pm. I may not have fallen asleep by 9pm, but I was resting and relaxing.
will do, going to get my second alarm clock, right now. thank you sheep nurse? :)
You're welcome. Baa!

I agree with getting a 2nd alarm. I would also suggest putting an alarm clock on the opposite side of the room, so you cannot just shut it off without really waking up; you have to walk across the room to turn it off.
lol,,hahaha, i feel like everyone went through this type of trouble. I love the fact that we are like a fam here..lol

I have a hard times in the mornings too. I usually set my alarm on my cell and do something like put it in the hamper, or up stairs or in the laundry basket or under my bed. That way when it goes off not only do I have to get up but I have to search for it. When I finally find it I am usually annoyed but awake and won't go back to bed. But I have a second clock just in case. lol..
It's happened to the best of us :) I used two alarm clocks set to go off at 3 different times about 10 minutes apart. I never failed to wake up past alarm call #2.
At least your school is giving you a few chances. At mine, we were allowed one clinical absence, with two tardinesses counting as one absence. More than that, we ran the risk of failing. Also, if we were more than 15-30 minutes late, we could be considered a no-show and sent home when we did arrive at the site.

I would be so irritated if I had one of these, but I guess its good for those who don't wake up to regular alarms.
