Anyone else have a test that was really hard? We only had one A in our class for our first test (and it was a 93). The class average was a D. I knew the test would be hard, but she asked some really strange questions (the wording on most of the questions was really odd). We thought the test would have similar questions as our quizes, but they were totally different. I hate having no idea of what to expect on our tests. Then you have no idea of what to focus your studying on. I'm just glad I got an 86 on the test.

Congrats on everyone's test! an 86 is still good. Micro is not an introductory course. Good job princessa and Catz! I'm about to go take my exam.

PreNurseKirk you are so RIGHT! The things we do to have a life is to have none at all...IT iS MADNESS! I just wish that these Nursing schools would base you getting in on not JUST GPA but if you work and support youself cause that is such a BIG part of being able to deal with the pressure! The classes, work, and homelife are enough.....I couldn't imagine having a 3yr old and doing it too. You are awesome and very lucky tou have such a great support system. Good LUCK!

Well, I just got the full grade back for my first exam and it is an 89. 10 points of the exam were a take-home assignment. We had to find a bunch of information about 3 firmicutes and 1 gracilicute. Then we had to make up a question and answer it. The question had to be complex enough that our 5 sentence answer had to contain at least 8 scientific facts. That stupid question took the majority of a full day to construct properly. I had plenty of great ideas that were either unanswerable or just not complex enough. Now there are only 4 more of these little gems to survive and one is next week.

And Graypixie, I think it would be awesome if they included some way of scoring our everyday stresses in addition to the pressure of school. I would deserve a full-ride scholarship with after-class massage to counteract my life!

Hi guys! This is my first post in this thread. I am taking micro as well this semester.

Wow, you guys are all doing great! You rock! We had our first test last week, but I won't know how I did until tomorrow night (my class is Tuesday and Thursday nights). I am hoping I got an A, but I will settle for a B cause this class is pretty intense.

I am hoping all of you will inspire me to do better, I think it's working already cause I am going to go study now!!!

So far its been interesting. We've had two tests. The last test was a killer. Out of 24 people...12 had less than 70% on the test. Can you believe it? I felt blessed that I had gotten an A on it. The first test I got a 96 and this test I got a 91. Although b/c pretty much everyone got around a C or below she is allowing EC so I can raise the test grade some. Its been crazy trying to do this and AP2 and trying to get the house ready to sell. We put our house on the market here on Friday. The kids have been pretty good but with a 6,4, and 2 year old sometimes I find it difficult to find time for good studying.

I have two tests next week on in MB and one in AP2. Sigh. A day after each other. I think I might go insane...anyone else wanting to get onboard the crazy train?

well I am on board with you, however I am not selling my house thankfully thats nuts on top of everything else to keep your house in "show quality"

I have 3 kids too 8,8 and 9 and am also taking ap2 and micro, just finished an exam today have another on Saturday and have practicals back to back thursday and Friday next week, whahoooo anyone say May is almost here?

Choo Choo!!!!! LOL Right there with y'all! I have 3 ds ages 15, 6 and 4. They are all about to have birthdays-March, April and May--so we live on the crazy train! I have micro and mth 116, looking for a part time job, and will be applying for the nursing program in the next week or so. We also just had our house replumbed so that will be a chapter in the book that I will write someday! Do any of you work in the medical field now while going to school??? I was wondering if that would help me in the actual nursing school. Thanks for all the input!!! geegeegirl

I attended a study group last night and was given this website:

http://student.ccbcmd.edu/~gkaiser/goshp.html

After poking around it a bit this evening, I think I will use it a lot!

I've also got 3 kids, ages 8, 5 and 2. My oldest is autistic, so I should have a seat reserved on the crazy train. Our test has been postponed for a week and I am thrilled. I have to write a big paper and a children's picture book for my Children's Lit class and easing up on BIO studying will help.

I've got a seat on that train!! I have four kids, 12(stepson),8,3, and 2. I also work and am taking humanities and art. I am glad I am not selling my house. For some reason my husband and I have moved twice during my time in school and both times were during finals and I was due to give birth in the same month, so right now life is feeling pretty calm. Looking back...that was some poor planning on my part!! Choo-Choo!!

we took our first big 100pt exam yesterday we have 4 all semester. It was THE hardest exam I have had since going back to school, I don't have my grade yet hopefully tomorrow, I studied very hard knowing it would be hard so many aqwardly worded questions you had to know the material inside and out to answer.

GOOD LUCK on your test! I hope that you have a great score!!
