Microbiology - Fall 2008

Hi ya'll! Anybody taking Micro this coming fall semester and want to form a study group? I did this for A&P I and II and it helped tremendously! I'm taking it along with Chem 1151 (Survey of Chem). Thanks!

Oh man... I am getting so stressed about the end of the semester and all of the final exams. So far I am holding onto a high B - but I keep having dreams that I fail the finals and end up with a D! UGH!! :uhoh3:

We just finished our unknowns. I was worried about mine a little, because I was sure it was E. coli, but some of the tests and characteristics didn't match up completely. I just checked my grade last night, and I got a 96.5! I'm SOOO glad! And a 102 (with bonus points) on my last micro exam! :yeah: We took our last lab test last week, and now we're done with lab, which, sadly enough, I will actually miss. We're so behind in lecture, though, and covering all the diseases, that she's using our lab time to continue lecture. We have this next week, and then it's finals week. Hard to believe we're almost done!

You guys and your A's!!!! That is incredible. Good for you! I've been a college student on and off for about 20 years and this is by far the HARDEST class I've ever had. I'm just happy with B's and C's at this point! Hopefully the next two weeks will go by fast because I am SO DONE with this class. I've been so blessed with a great lab table & study group. Don't know what I'd do without those ladies. Good luck to everyone in the home stretch! Kick some rear.

Mel! Great job on your 88! I only hope to do that well on my last psych exam..it open this weekend. UGH i have been getting noly C s on her tests..NEED THAT B!! but all A's on her Assignments.. weve had 24 of them.ouch!

I dont know my grade on that DNA micro test yet cause we didnt have class cause of the holiday so ill find out on saturday. I finished my take home lab final and will give it to him on saturday as well. Then 2 exams for micro and IM DONE :) a 4th exam and a final exam..BOTH WITHIN 3 DAYS OF EACHOTHER! ugh not looking forward but i SO want that A in Micro...

Done psych except for the ast exam, 2 assignments left in Soc (no exam) 1 assignment in CIS left plus his final and YEEHAW!!! LETS GET IT ON!

IM tired of this semester..felt like forever but now we are so close to be done.

Sorry ive been MIA, my sons b-day was sunday and i was sick with a freaking pneunomnia..go figure..must have been the ******* Streptococcus pneumonae hahaha oh gosh i hope not!

Only three more lectures and I'm finished with my Micro class. We are reviewing the diseases and treatments and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to best organize the material to help with memorization of diseases. :banghead:

Did you organize them by body part?

By Bacteria? By virus? Is there a secret to organizing this stuff?

I'm doing well in my class but riding a thin line between A/A-. I know the instructor could possibly give me the A if I ace this last test. These 4 credits will affect my entrance GPA so I'm doing my best to get the A.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :loveya:

I am pretty bummed - got a 67 on the lab final exam. I felt SOOO confident after I finished it. I just KNEW I had made an A. She went over the answers with me later and its like I wrote a correct answer, but not THE correct answer. And on a few I kept getting lactose fermentation and glucose fermentation mixed up. Grrrrrr!!! We have out lecture final exam on monday and I need a 92 on that to make a 90 for the class. I am studying like crazy until monday! I NEED an A!

I have my Lab exam next Thurs. It's over protozoa, helminths, and fungi. If anyone has any good study sites (especially with pictures) I'd appreciate it.

Hang in there Stacy, you can do it!

We need a 94 to get an A, grrr that's tough for me. That means I can't get more than 1 or 2 wrong out of 60 questions. Each question is worth 3 points. I really like this teacher, but he's a tough one and he's not about memorization it's all critical thinking.

Good luck on your final exam! We don't get final exams and they're not cumulative, so to speak, but if you don't understand what happened in chapter 1 you certainly can't understand chapter 23.

We had our third exam this week and we won't get our grades until next week, but the whole class (including me) feels like we all did terribly :( I'm dreading finding out my grade. Now I've got a lab final on this upcoming Monday and my lecture final the Tuesday after that. Gah! We're doing unknowns now too. I should be able to have mine done by Monday so that's a whole week early!

Got better news for ya! I got accepted to my 1st choice school!!!! I gave my deposit and everything...I turned down the other one!!!! I'm so happy!!!!!!!!! but real happpp:loveya:pyyyyyyy

I just can't wait for this semester to be over..our next test is on Tuesdayyyyyy..can you beleive it?

YAYAYAYAY MEL!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! GIRL! THATS SOOO ******* EXCITING!!! I also got accepted to the first school of my choice..FINALLY lol! i begin Jan 5th how bout you? OMG I JUST WENT TO ORIENTATION and now it actually feels real! im so excited..over the moon!

These last 2 wks are crunch time..im happy to have them done. I finally finsihed with Psych and the final open up this weekend. and then the rest of my three finals need to be done by the 10th. I have one last final on the 13th. SO....

Here's to the last couple of weeks..good luck to you all..positive prayers and wishes and luck.
