Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

I have uploaded all of the documents. Everything has been approved except the background check and drug test... It's been a little over a week and still says pending. I also have to do a second titer for varicella but I have to wait a few more weeks since it has to be done a month after the shot. (I am a special case because I've never had the chicken pox and up until two weeks ago I had never been vaccinated)

What a coincidence I am on your same situation with the varicella. I have to take a shot and wait a couple of weeks for a second titer. Where did you got your shot?

I went to a walgreens clinic. My pcp doesn't do them at the office so this was quicker

Didn't even realize that I did. How do I remove?

Dress code is optional for orientation. Some people came in jeans and yoga pants. Majority of people were headed back to work so they were still in scrubs. We didn't meet any professors but we meet a few important people over the program as well as academic and financial aid advisors.

Be sure to order your tags as they take a month to get back. Have your classes selected as you will be able to register at the window after orientation. Seats fill quickly. I heard a few students complaining they did not get the clinical sites they initially wanted.

Check out Blue Angels across the street for scrubs.

I have a question for those who did the criminal background check already:

When scheduling an appointment online, how do I put in the previous address when I've lived in the same place all my life? Do I put it from the month I was born to the present month?

Just write the month and year of your birth and then 11/14. That should be enough

What do you guys plan to wear for this Thursday Orientation? The scrubs? Normal clothes? Please share your opinions...

OMG dont start stressing over small stuff...just remember when in doubt dress professionally

That's great so are you going to apply next year?

Great, I will look into it during the summer... (Microbiology)
