  1. A lot of current students including myself have purchased the green scrubs with the mdc logo at the blue uniform store located north of the parking next to Wendy's. They are more affordable then the bookstore. And my professors did not know the difference. Same green shade and style.
  2. Unfortunately your classes are already outlined for you. The only thing that you can do is select the day and time that are available. You will not be able to advance by talking extra classes. Besides over the summer you will be taking 3 courses that are each 4wks long.
  3. Hesi fundamentals was not challenging. Hesi ask straight forward questions and they focus on basic knowledge we should have as "nursing students". The most important thing for every Hesi exam is to do practice questions as well as the case studies. The school will provide you with the website and all the information you need in regards to this website. I suggest purchasing a Saunders or Hesi comprehensive study guide
  4. Chm1033 is chemistry for health sciences. Chm1045 and 1046 are General chemistry courses. So you will have to take chm1033. I was in the same boat
  5. The boot camp consist of several days of orientation. They will introduce you to the nursing department staff and maybe a few professors. Go in with a positive attitude and try to mingle with a few peers. We attended an 8hr test taking strategy workshop at the Wolfson campus. Luckily I brought along my tablet to keep me entertained lol. They will not provide you with lunch so make sure you bring a few snacks. A few of us walked to bayside for lunch (like a 5 minute walk). They will allow you to register once orientation is over so I suggest you bring a laptop or mobile device. The good clinicals go fast every semster. I waited up at midnight during every registration just to get the clinicals I wanted.
  6. The books that are used can be found on mdc website under bookstore. There will be a link to pick books by using your schedule. I have heard the online option is tremendously hard. The bridge and accelerated option are hard too. I suggest e-mailing your professor and start reading the chapters. For me reading the assigned chapters and practicing evolve adaptive quizzes everyday will help you succeed. As for preparing for HESI I suggest getting the hesi study guide for every course you take. Everything thats in that study guide will help you for the exam. Especially the HINTS within the chapters. I personally on purchased the course textbooks and a Saunders book. Tons of pens, highlighters, sticky-notes, and a calender. The program will go extremely fast but as long as you create a plan, read, and do practice questions you will be fine.. I can't believe I will be finished in 6 months.
  7. P.S. instructors are expecting you to come into the bridge program with previous knowledge. The courses will go very fast and you don't want to be left behind.
  8. Monday and Tuesday. I personally did not take any online classes but I've heard that their clinicals are scheduled for the weekend.
  9. Clinicals are based on your selection. There are mornings 7am-12pm and 3pm-8pm. Full-time lectures are scheduled in the mornings. This term I had fundamentals MT 8am-10:40am and Math 2-4p. My clinicals that I selected were Thursday and Fridays 7am-12pm. Working was feasible for some people because their jobs worked with their schedule. Most of them worked night shifts so the day scheduled worked best for them
  10. Professor Prapapis Pitayapisut we call her Dr Patty. We are at Jackson Plaza nursing home this week 7am-12pm
  11. Who is your professor. Some of the professors said they will send an email where to meet. Just come dressed accordingly and bring anything you may need like a notepad, pen, stethoscope
  12. If that is still the the nursing skills update course yes most definitely. The HSC course can be waived if you have an updated cpr license
  13. You will need the receipt from the registrar office anyway so it's fine if you misplaced your copy. I was rejected Spring 2013 and I was able to waive the Spring 2015 fee
  14. Happy New Year!! I wish everyone the best of luck and success in our new journey. (Countdown to the 1st day of class begins)
