  8. Hi Everyone - Was wondering if any of you were looking for a roomate. I'm in the AO program starting in Jan. 2014. I'm originally from Miami but currently live in NYC. Would love to share housing with someone going through the same insanity. I found a few nice places down by school, which are in the nice high-rise buildings and are about $700 each. Contact me at claudianyc AT GMAIL
  9. I find myself in the same boat. I already have a BA (that was paid for w/out any federal aid)...and now what i want to get my ADN for Nursing the school told me that i dont qualify for aid...well they said i qualify for the minimum amount of $9,500 only...nothing more because of my degree. They also said that they dont authorize Sallie Mae/Discover private loans for Nursing because it's not considered a 'high cost program'. All i know is that i cant live on $9k, and if they dont allow private loans, i'm at a loss and may not be able to attend. How did you make it happen? Didnt the credit card 'loans' kill you with the heavy interest rate? Thanks!
  10. They should have rent discounts for students! :)
  11. I never thought of Little Haiti. I'll look into that for sure...its the perks of downtown w/out the pricey rents. I know the gated community on 54th street actually, it's like this quiet oasis. I actually stayed there when i came to town to take the TEAS last month...i rented a place with Airbnb which worked out nicely. Thanks for the tips on the hood.
  12. You are very inspiring to have completed school so quickly and still handle job/kids! Just 2 questions for you about the program: 1. Did you have all the pre-reqs/co-reqs completed? I notice that the texas schools require so many history classes! I already have a BA in Marketing so i will call them to see if that by chance gets me out of having to do all the pre-reqs, but would love to know your experience. 2. How many hours would you say you dedicated to school? Was it extreamly stressful? Thanks!
  13. Do you think that the fact that WGU only assigns a GPA of 3.0, that it might hurt you in the long run if you want to do a NP or CRNA program? I like its price/convenience but worry about the implications for the future due to GPA, Any thoughts?
  14. can you add me to the FB group? you can find me by my email: [email protected] thanks!
