Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

Sorry thats not that one that I have..I have Anat & Physio Revealed 2.0 by Robert Broyles Jr. w/cd

ISBN: 97800073378145

Omg chapter 28 of Fundamentals is endless... And yes, this is just the beginning ?

I'm working on it and it is, as you say, endlesssssssss...

So... How are you guys doing so far???? I have my first NUR 1142 test next Wednesday. Content seems to be pretty easy to digest. What keeps me worried is NUR1025 :-/... Lots of info plus 2 more tests within the same week. Well, Wishing you all best of luck!!!

I just got my acceptance email for full time!! I'm really waiting for part time cause that's my preference lol

Did you also get accepted into the part time program

Hi guys... I was wondering if any of who have taken Mrs. Coombs before and can give me a heads up on what to expect on the test?

Do the test questions come straight from the book or does she also includes what she goes over on her power points??

Thanks :)

Did you also get accepted into the part time program

Yes I did. I ended up choosing the part-time track.

Ok cool I was wandering because my scores look almost exactly like yours but I am hoping to do the full time generic or accelerated track. How long is the part-time track?

You should have no problem getting in then if you have those scores. Part-time is about 2 1/2 years.

hello,

I wanted to know if anyone can tell me times of fulltime and partime, I work from 8 to 5pm monday thru friday and I wanted to more or less know the times so I can decide what option works best for me and my family. Thanks in advance!

Working those hours, your best bet is to do the part time track. Your clinicals will be on Saturday and unless they have changed from when I did, you had lecture on Tuesdays starting at 6pm. The first semester was brutal in the sense that on Saturday we had Pharmacology, Skills labs, and the Assessment class and Fundamentals on Tuesday. But your challenging classes do not start until your first Med-Surge, so get ready.

The part time program tends to be more competitive, so hopefully you have a good GPA. Then again, it changes semester from semester. But what differs from the full time is that it starts once a year and the amount of students accepted are much less.

Good luck.

Is there anyone here doing the LPN to RN bridge program? I wanted to know how difficult it is and any other tips would be greatly appreciated please.

Hello all. I'm doing the Generic at Medical (Spring 2013). I work nights from 11p-7:30a and want to see how this may fit. Can someone please share your experience or suggest where I can find information on class/clinical schedules?
