Hey everyone,
I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.
I will start:
I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)
Hello all. I'm doing the Generic at Medical (Spring 2013). I work nights from 11p-7:30a and want to see how this may fit. Can someone please share your experience or suggest where I can find information on class/clinical schedules?
You do not state if you are doing the generic part time or full time. I know once a week you will have to attend the lecture at night for the part time program and clinicals on weekends; then again, I just realized you said Spring and the part time track starts once a year in August.
Not sure how young you are, but the full time program is during the day, so you will have to adjust your body clock to work on different shifts between your job and school. You will have lecture during the day as well as clinicals. With your schedule, I personally, would sign up for the part time track if I qualify GPA wise.
I wish you much success. .
Thanks. I am doing full time. I just wanted to ensure my classes and clinicals don't start before I get off of work
Not for the full time. Just think carefully when planning to do this. This will mean you will have to start class right after you leave work. I say this, because one friend had the schedule you have. On the last semester; which is Leadership, your clinicals will be 12 hour shifts and these could be in a row....it will be brutal for you. Just trying to avoid more stress than you have to.
I'm doing full time also. Guess we're going to be classmates =). I won't be working either. I've done the background check and I'm waiting on the email that they're supposed to send. My appointment for my physical is on Tuesday. More than likely I wont have everything in by Nov. 2nd like they want but I heard they give extensions.

You can probably pull the classes up by number (nur1060, etc) on the registration page. It should give you an idea of what's open for next semester.
