Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

Hello Everyone

I'm looking to apply to MDC's nursing program within the next upcoming semesters. I've decided to change my major from Biology to Nursing. I already received my AA from Broward College, but it looks like I will have to complete the AS degree in nursing as well. Am I correct?

Also can someone explain the differences between the tracks. It looks like they offer the generic option and the accelerated option. I see some people here state they've applied for three: the part time generic, full-time generic, and the accelerated. I thought the accelerated is only for people who've graduated with a bachelors already am I wrong?

I'd also like clarification on the hours required for the program. I'm looking into the part time track but I'm still considering the full time and no working anymore. I'd like to know from what time to what time are classes in session each day. I think a friend told me they offered hers from 6-10 pm. Is this the part time track? Is this the same way the rn-bsn program is set up? Can you do it part time too?

Any info would help thank you.

You could apply to the bridge, generic or part-time program at MDC. Or a 4 year program at Nova, Barry, FIU or FAU.

Also can someone explain the differences between the tracks. It looks like they offer the generic option and the accelerated option. accelerated is if you already have a bachelors

bridge is for students with a medical background

generic full-time. Is if you do not have a medical background, and or want to go full-time.

The generic full-time is generally during the day.

generic part-time. Is the same program, but you take less classes and it takes more time.

The generic part-time is generally in the evenings and weekends, but not always.

rn-bsn - can be online or on campus.

I'd also like clarification on the hours required for the program. I'm looking into the part time track but I'm still considering the full time and no working anymore. Hope that helps. If you have an AA, I would also consider applying to 4 year schools.

Does anyone have The A&P text 9781259359095 ?
