MHCC/PCC Fall 2018/Winter 2019

Published

Hello future nursing student friends! I've applied to MHCC, PCC, OHSU, CCC and Columbia Gorge in the Dalles. I wanted to start a thread to help ease some anxiety! What are everyone's stats? Where did you apply? What is your GPA? Do you hav work experience>? Did you do any preinterview point calculations? Where would you like to go?

I already answered my first question. My GPA is 3.84 and I have over 5 years experience as a medical assistant. According to my calculations at MHCC I will have 62 points, PCC 59, CCC 50, OHSU unknown, Columbia Gorge 53 (I think). I'd love to go to MHCC because it is close to my house but really any school will do. I'm hopful to get in this year, but it is my first year applying so fingers crossed. I'd love to hear from everyone else who is applying.

I have applied at MHCC and OHSU so far. Not sure if I am going to apply at PCC or CCC because I won't have very many points at either college. Basically just points for having a 4.0 pre-req GPA and completing all the pre-reqs. I think I calculated only 54 points for PCC out of 70 so chances aren't all that great there. But I think I have 61 points at MHCC. I have my CNA but no work experience yet. We will see!

I just dropped off and sent the rest of my nursing applications! Now the waiting begins. We should post updates when someone gets an email from the schools or something!

Hi you guys I just made a thread titled PCC/MHCC/CCC Fall 2018. As I did not find this thread until later, ha!

But I applied to PCC, MHCC, and CCC.

First time applying. I have 3/4 of my pre reqs done but still applied. I have work experience as a medical interpreter and volunteer experience but only PCC took this since atm I am a full time student, and some of these schools want you to currently be working for experience points go figure. And some schools don't count volunteer experience. Than as always there is the local discretionary points for each school.

I think mine were: 3.6 PCC, 3.7 CCC, 3.6 MHCC now this is nursing GPA not overall. After all they only care about the nursing GPA :( if not it would be rad my overall GPA is like 3.8.

It is so competitive but I gave it my all and hopefully will be accepted this fall. I would love to chat with some other folks in this area.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Hi everyone! I applied to all except CCC, plus Clark and OHSU's 3-year program

I don't have the best prereq GPA- 3.6 (dropped the ball my sophomore year) but I do have a prior bachelor's degree, all prerequisite finished with no repeats, and 2,000+ hours of experience as an EMT and ER Tech.

I'm SOOOO nervous and excited to hear back! I'm not picky at all, just hoping to get accepted to at least one school. I've been having dreams about starting/practicing interview answers LOL. Positive visualization at its finest.

Good luck everyone!!!

Gosh all we can do is hope and pray now! Almost applications closed yesterday! So exciting and nerve racking.

Good luck all!!!!

Is anyone getting nervous now that it's march?!!

I am freaking out haha! I keep checking my email even though its too early. I just want to know already!

Gosh I know!! So much anxieties!

So much anxiety!! Last year CCC sent point totals around April 1st so we will see when they do this year!

Does that include interview requests or are they just FYI this is how many points you have.. lol

Just an FYI! then on April 11th they sent my decline but I think the interview invites came out the same day..just as a reference for this year!

I applied to MHCC,PCC & CCC! All prerequisites done. Feels like just yesterday I started them!
