  1. SOOO MANYYY STORIES! I worked up near Seattle with a company very similar to AMR :)
  2. I was for a bit and then worked as an ER tech. I was lucky enough to do an EMT program through a local fire department so my experience was probably a little different than others, but I LOVED it! I looked forward to class every day and was so excited about it. I got a job right away with a private ambulance company and it was really fun. Tons of experience and it was pretty awesome getting to be on scene with the fire department and police. If you're thinking of doing ER, ICU or trauma I'd definitely recommend trying out EMT first. When i ended up in the ED, that's when I really found my passion for nursing. I feel like jobs as a CNA are pretty grueling and demanding, and in a certain setting that isn't enjoyable at all.
  3. You don't have to go to a CC and pay that much. I did a small private class in Vancouver that was $1000 (still a lot) and i only did it because Clark requires it and i didn't get in, so I feel your pain lol. Have you thought of doing EMT instead? I found it SO much easier to get a job that i actually enjoyed compared to CNA.
  4. Agreed thank you for calming our nerves :)
  5. Ahhh I see. They definitely need to change the verbiage lol. I just thought maybe they had big class sizes!
  6. EXACTLY! When I thought it was 80 I was pretty confident that almost everyone on the waitlist would get in, but now I'm just crossing my fingers for everyone.
  7. Congrats everyone! Does anyone else feel just a litttttlleeee misled about the class size, especially being an alternate? The website says up to 80 so hearing 32 was a complete shock! I'm slowly losing hope about getting off the waitlist since it's been a couple days now but who knows what could happen. Also cuddlyelephant I didn't even pay attention to that so I can't add anything!
  8. Yeah it seemed like there were at least 50 if not 60+ there. I honestly felt kind of discouraged after they said there would only be 32 spots, especially since the website makes it seem like 80.
  9. Does anyone know when the second PCC orientation is? The one in September?
  10. I start my nursing program this fall and have decided to get out of my comfort zone and start a YouTube channel! I really don't want to use my full name so I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for a channel name? I'm trying not to be too cheesy thanks!
  11. I'm right there with ya and hoping all the rumors are true about PCC going through their alternate list. I emailed them and thought it might help others to share their response- "We will accept applicants from the alternate pool up until August 10, 2018. We will not be calling any alternates until after June 15th. We do not tell applicants where they are in the alternate pool but we do go by scores, including the essay score. We don't give out the information on how many applications we received. And no, you do not get to keep your place in the alternate pool for next year. If you are not offered a seat this year you will have to re-apply next year." At least having a rough timeline helps a little LOL
  12. Thank you! :) good luck at OHSU, that's super exciting!
  13. Congrats!!! I'm in the alternate pool as well, amochka.
  14. Welp, hopefully tomorrow!
