PCC/OHSU/CCC/MHCC FALL 2019
So I have submitted OHSU and PCC via NCAS and MHCC is snail mail, now just need to mail out CCC via snail mail. It is too bad the application money is 250 to 280 alone. I am currently a CNA with about 4 months experience and it is my 2nd year in a row applying but this year I added OHSU. Anyone else apply to these schools? Have any CNA/EMT/MA experience, or points? Is this your 1st, 2nd or 3rd time applying?

Integrative Private Practice
Oh no. I too have a dream of becoming an FNP with integrative medicine practice. I had no idea there was a scope of practice I just figured you could get your MSN for NP. Get your practice, prescriptive abilities, get integrative medicine traning in my case herbalism, and on you go. But this might be a huge setback. ... I have spoken with other RNs though that are practicing herbalist nurses and make it work. I went to a few local holistic nursing chapter meetings. I might begin there for info. Check out AHNA local chapters. Best of luck and let's stick together this is our only hope in this field of practice. Regards!

Oregon CNA skills test question
Hi mags. I passed my OR boards 2 weeks ago and no, what you are asking is not a step in bold. So you should be fine. Also my Pearson vue skills sheet says: walks slightly behind and to one side of client for a distance of 10 ft while holding onto belt. Hope this helps!

CNA Program/Training Duration?
Hi again, well I did the day classes and it was only about 2.5 weeks long and went to the Vancouver one. If the woodland one is closer I say go for it. Also most CC programs don't guarantee job placement but a lot of the clinical sites hire too as pinky said above. As far as the job search I had 2 interviews so far just waiting to get the final license cause I'm trying for an agency. And for that you need license in hand versus with a facility you have up to 120 days to get your license and some will even pay for your exams. Talk with a facility see what their policies are. :)

CNA Program/Training Duration?
Yes! I feel like they totally prepared me. The people who run it just bought a new facility as well so they are expanding. They have glowing reviews and even our examiner said it was one of the best sites in the state to learn. They also test you for your boards there. The place is family run almost everyone is a nurse or CNA. And they know the system in and out. They made me feel very welcome and were patient and encouraging. My cohort had nurse Staci and Hannah. And Maryann herself is super nice. For clinical we went to a assisted living facility and you really get in there and work with the patients. I am fairly new in healthcare myself, at least patient oriented. Although I was a medical interpreter before but you don't need any experience. After all being a CNA is getting your foot in the door to bigger things. I can't recommend them enough, considering I wanted a short class that was affordable and quality care. They are it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Best of luck!

CNA Program/Training Duration?
hmmmm, I just posted a comment but don't think it added. Please check this school out. They are in Vancouver. MaryAnn's CNA Training School | Best of luck, I just passed my boards with them and they are under 1000 dollar tuition, and less than 7 weeks long.

I have not heard back from CCC yet either. Honestly don't think I'll make the cut. Didn't have enough points. And MHCC and PCC already declined hahaha....so slim chance. OH well. Best of luck to everyone else!! Hopefully I will catch up next year !! In the meantime I am going to get my CNA in Vancouver :)....Long commute, but worth it! *Here is hoping CCC sends out the invites already!*

Omg I know right! I check my mail everyday too.... I know it will be about a month or so before we even hear peep hahaha but regardless. I went to a PCC session last year and no surprises there, I guess it is just wait and see... Any plan B if you don't get in this year.... I know ...don't even want to think about it...but just being real :) If I don't get in this year I will probably try for CNA for a year then reapply next year. So either way I'm okay hehe, but here is hoping for the best to us all !

My points were around the same too... I have some work and volunteer experience, but only applied with 3/4 creds and about a 3.7 GPA. We'll see! Fingers crossed ! p.s. I added you to my friends list.
