MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014

Published

I just sent in my application for MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014 and I was hoping to get in touch with other applicants. I applied for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP. The wait is going to kill me! I'm wondering about other people's backgrounds (GPA, GRE scores, experience, etc.) and if anyone has an idea of who MGH accepts. Look forward to hearing from you!

I sent you a message!)

Mzaur i also PM u.

Has anyone visited the school yet? If so, what is it like from your perspective? I haven't had the chance to fly over to the east coast yet, so I've just been looking up "campus tour" videos on youtube for all the different nursing schools haha.. They at least help give you some idea of what the schools look like...

NS14, what bad reviews did you read? I have a friend in the program currently that I spoke with last night. Maybe I can ask her for you??

Hey guys, I don't know if this is of any use, but I put together a quick cost summary for the MGH DE MSN using my concentration, Dual Adult Gero/Women's Health. Note that other concentrations are less expensive because of the required credit hours. Let me know if you see any errors in my math. :) I threw this together this morning. I am deciding between programs in part based on cost and thought others may be in the same boat.

Awesome breakdown! I did something similar for the Family NP track and I don't have the spreadsheet in front of me since I'm at work but the numbers look good to me.

It looks like some of the fees, etc. I used for my previous have changed for Fall 2014. There is a $500 annual clinical fee and a few other changes. My new total is $125,724 for tuition and fees.

@epoc, you are a wonderful human being for posting this. I think everyone will use this when weighing MGH against other options. This tells me MGH is FOR SURE cheaper than Columbia! Thank you again!

@ droux, I'm just trying to stay sane! Living in Boston isn't cheap, but it's definitely less expensive than New York.

So helpful!! Thanks so much! I'm deciding between Columbia, MGH, (and NYU) also. Definitely need to make a spreadsheet of pros and cons. To those contemplating CU also....are you stressed at all that the deposit for MGH is the day before the CU visiting day? Going to have to make an early trip to NYC before then.

NS14 - I am thinking MGH might let us deposit a day late given the conflict with CUSON's visiting day. Also, anyone know if MGH doing any sort of accepted students day?

EPOC - thanks so much for sharing that info, I am in the process of comparing costs myself. Still figuring out NEU's tuition, but wow MGH is so much cheaper than Columbia!

selizabethk: I actually e-mailed admissions yesterday asking about that. I'll let you guys know what they say if they respond.
