I just sent in my application for MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014 and I was hoping to get in touch with other applicants. I applied for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP. The wait is going to kill me! I'm wondering about other people's backgrounds (GPA, GRE scores, experience, etc.) and if anyone has an idea of who MGH accepts. Look forward to hearing from you!
To britt8486:
I'm also looking between NEU and MGH for acute care. I certainly haven't made any decisions. I will be spending the next several days trying to weigh each program for my finances, advantages of each program, and personal learning preference. It will be very difficult to decide since both are great!
Hi,For those who are wait listed, would you guys mind sharing your interested speciality? I'm just trying to get a gauge on how many people they wait list for each track.
Thanks!
That's kind of what I've been trying to figure out (at least for Psych/Mental Health, the specialty that I applied for) to try calculating my chances of actually getting a spot if one opens up. I asked the admissions office but they just sent me the same information that is on the wait list FAQ site.
Hey all,
Congrats to everyone that's been accepted! And to those wait listed, good luck and I hope you hear from other schools! I received an acceptance today for the adult-gerontology primary care at MGH!! I'm so excited! Is anyone else in the same specialty? I submitted my deposit for Northeastern (online/hybrid) last night because I didn't know when I would hear back from MGH so I'm pretty bummed about losing that deposit.
My friend who is a student at NEU taking the hybrid courses said the program is really unorganized but the clinical leaders and lab instructors are great. But I've heard good and bad reviews for the school. From my experience, NEU is unorganized. More than once, my advisor didn't know what I was talking about when I had questions about my application and blamed everything on computer "glitches" and her snarky/rude emails made the application process a bit upsetting and difficult for me. Did anyone else feel the same way with their advisor?
Hi nmartti i also got into adult gero primarycare at MGH. I am so excited:) i wanted to apply to NEU on campus program but for some application glitch my application didnt go through and ultimately i ended up at hybrid program eventhough inwas interested in it much. My advisor was ok. I was asked to submit all official documents for application review and was told that as soon as they receive everything my application will be reviewed. Which wasnt the case and later advisor said the policy have changed and now ur application will be reviewed when ull do ur last 2 pre reqs. So i shouldnt expect yo hear till May. So there was alot of vague things mentioned to me. This put me off from neu. MGH has been my top pref and i am glad i got in. :)
Yup!! Same here. And yes definite miscommunocation. boston campus received all my official docs and burlington campus and my advisor had no clue and couldn't find out for weeks.
Anyways. Everything happens for good:) i got in my top and only choice haha. Cant wait to meet everyone. We should soon makeup our fb group :)
Definitely make a Facebook group! I would love to talk to people who are set on mgh. I read some bad reviews online about the program which has made me a bit weary but I don't know anyone in the program to give me some real answers! Would love some definitive feedback if any of you all have some!

Guys, who got wait listed.. Cheer up! I'm still waiting from Yale School of Nursing ( I had my interview at the end of January) it's my primary choice. I was accepted to Family NP Track at MGH for Fall 2014. I love both programs but I will most likely accept Yale's offer.
