Had a busy day today at work, I worked 7a to 7p.

It was great to see some of our residents leave for the day.

The highlight of my day was when one of my resident's grandsons came in to visit. They hadn't seen each other in years since he lives out of state. Once I showed him how to communicate with her they had a marvelous time. :)

Staff had a pot luck and exchanged gifts :)

Hey Tweety, Would you please bring me some takeout Chinese when you get yours?!?! I couldn't find anything open when I got off, so I got frozen pizza from Walgreens...I think I'd have been better going to bed hungry!! :) Merry Christmas!

I worked day shift today on my day off. Really didn't mind at all. Dinner with my family was in the evening. Although I did have to resist doing a double today. yikes. no thanks ! Merry christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas, all! I screwed up my holiday schedule, thinking I was scheduled for tonight when I was actually scheduled for Christmas Eve. I had been celebrating with my family (and had a couple glasses of *wine) when I got that dreaded 19:15 phone call asking where I was. I've felt sick all weekend about missing that shift  Can't believe how dumb I was. Next year, I'm volunteering for all the holidays.

Hope all my fellow nurses had a good holiday regardless if you worked or not. I worked my 3-11:30pm shift. My co-nurse and CNAs did our secret santa thing and had a potluck. This was my first time working on Christmas (or any holiday for that matter). I made cookies for my residents and they all were so grateful that I thought of them. Overall, it was a nice night!

What a nice post! :) Merry Christmas to all those health care professionals working the holidays!

Worked 7p-7am on Christmas night and actually had a pretty good shift. Everyone (patients and staff) were in a good mood so it made for a really good night. Hope everyone had a good Christmas :)

me too!

never again, i hope. :p

i would not count on this unless you work for fair employers... for instance, i was supposed to get christmas eve and christmas day off this year because i worked every holiday last year unlike any other nurse with whom i work. however, i worked all of the end holidays this year including this one and other nurses who did not work the thanksgiving or christmas holidays last year got off this year again!!!
