Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Hi!

I'm currently in the process of sending my papers to AHPRA and I just want clarify some things:

- Can I send my application to AHRPA even without my IELTS results? I will be taking the exam this May and not that I'm confident that I can score 7.0 in all bands, but computing the time before my application reaches the office, I have probably taken the exam that time. I just have to wait 13 days for the results, which I have requested idp to send the results at AHPRA.

-Can I also send my certificate of good standing from PRC the moment I send my AHPRA application? (Separately, ofcourse) Or do I have to wait for AHPRA to ask me for my certificate of good standing?

-It sucks that ARNTP is in SA because I'm planning to study in Sydney since my cousin lives there, and ACN is two stations away from their place. Is there a similar program in Sydney that you know? I checked AHPRA website and it's disappointing that most schools are also in VIC area.

-I've read in this forum that I only need to pay/charged in my credit card the assessment and application fee? Is this right?

-Is it also correct that I can send my papers to ANY AHPRA branches even though I'll be taking BP course in other state.

- However, my biggest problem is that the course description that my school provides only has UNITS and not HOURS per course description. I don't know what to do about this and my school registrar told me that they can only provide that. My RLE is okay since it's in hours, but my huge problem is my course description.

- Lastly, a friend of mine has sent her papers in AHPRA VIC; however, her nursing license was once suspended for grounds of unethical conduct and it's stated in her PRC certificate of good standing so she's kinda worried that this will affect her application. What do you think?

-Feel free to email me at [email protected]

THANK YOU!

I think you can submit you additional requirement to your AHPRA case officer with your provided case number.

give me your email and ill send it.

Hi, Sarah! May I also have a copy of this pdf file from AHPRA? I'm planning to show it in my school once I get my TOR.

Yes this should effect application to AHPRA......did you attend any rehabilitation, tribunal is there any education been done to stop this happening again? Have you any proof of further ethical education.?

and without your IELTS result your application is incomplete and will not be assessed until it is complete. under the new criteria is is rather important to show hours and not just a description.

Hi roxie!try to open this:

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - IQNM: Criteria 1 - 8 for internationally qualified registered nurses

The pdf template is available in the above mentioned site.

This will help you a lot with regards to AHPRA application and inquiries. Goodluck! :)

Hello Everyone!

I would like to ask if somebody here already received a reply from AHPRA, after sending their additional requirements regarding the IQNM?

thanks

hi jdyboy. thanks for your reply. ,may i ask if you are still currently employed as a nurse? thanks. how many years of experience do you have? :-)

Hi @pastelle! It's been two weeks since I sent the 3 additional requirements (criteria 2, 3 and 8).. I sent a web enquiry to check if the documents have been delivered 2 weeks ago, and I was told that I would be contacted in case they need additional information. :( no emails about the progress of my application since then. How about you?

hey spawn, I have more than 3 yrs experience as a nurse, but I am currently not practising because I resigned already. In UniSa they require at least 2 years experience as a nurse, good thing is they dont require a letter from Ahpra(eligibility letter) for a student to undergo ARNTP

Good day! I'm going to start my application for AHPRA and I've seen these thread that talks about the requirements. My school has been the first private school that offered BSN here in Baguio City... It has been in existence since 1969... My problem is that it has never been accredited by the PAASCU, PACU-COA, ACSC, AACCUP, or FAAP... Is CHED my only chance for IQNM 2 and 3?

You say your school and your course has never been accredited, has CHED? If they have accredited and assessed your school and your course then, yes.

Can anyone share your reference letters with me.. thanks!
